Chapter 4. Lier

Throughout the party I've met a lot more people and had a little bit more to drink. Talking with Natasha was so comfortable it felt like I was talking to a sister. Same with Wanda and Maria and Helen. The boys seemed nice too. Everyone treated me kindly except for Barnes. There's no way that his first name. He mostly stayed quiet around me except when he was alone with Sam and Steve.

"Hey how is your party?" Tony came up to me sitting by myself at the bar.

"It's good. A lot of people we're nice."

"A lot but not all? Let me guess, Thor was trying to show off and he insulted you in some way?"

I chuckled. "No no he was fine."

"Still shocked?" I look at him confused. "About lifting his hammer. Only the special people get to do that." He wiggled his eyes at me which made me laugh.

"Yeah I guess. I mean I don't know how big of a deal it was but I guess it was cool." I shrugged and sipped my drink.

"You guess? Thor can technically make you his queen right now." He laughed and looked at Thor laughing with Steve.

"Yeah I don't think he's gunna do that. He seems a little hungover with Jane."

"Uh oh he told you about her. That's means you're a part of the team now." He smiled at me.

"The team?"

"Avengers. Earth's mightiest heroes." He sighed looking over at the party.

"So is uh, Barnes a part of the team?" I look down at my drink to not make it suspicious.

"I guess at this point. Have you met him yet?"

"No I haven't and I get the feeling he doesn't wanna talk to me so I'm gunna leave it alone." I chuckle and he looks at me puzzled.

"Really? That's weird becuase-"

"Tony! Let's get you another drink." Natasha shows uo behind him from the other side of the bad and hands him another beer. She hands him a beer then pushed him with one arm. "Go find Rhodes or something."

"I can't talk to my daughter for 2 seconds." He said to himself as he walks away.

"What was that all about?" I look at Natasha and she just shrugged.

"So I heard you and Sam came in the party together. Are you guysss?"

"Oh slow down. Sam is a great guy but we are just friends. He's only being nice to me becuase I lost my memory."

"Never say never." She winks at me then starts to walk away.

"What does that mean?" I yell to her and she just looks behind me. I turn in my seat and see Sam and Barnes walking over.

Don't be rude.

Shush.

"Hey beautiful. How is your night going?" Sam side hugs me while Barnes takes a seat next to me.

"For the most part good. Everyone is talking about the hammer thing I guess." I chuckle.

"Yeah that was a shocker." Sam looks between me and Barnes. I decode to just go for it.

"Hi. I'm sorry I don't think we've met yet." I hold out my hand for Barnes to take it just he doesn't. He is he only one here wearing a jacket and... gloves?

"Bucky. You can call me Bucky." He smiles for just a second then looks away.

"Oh ok. Well it was nice to meet you I guess." I try to look at Sam for some help but it's no use. He was already leaving to help another conversation, or should I say debate, with Steve and Thor. "Ok well that was short lasted." I chuckle hoping to break some of th tension but nothing happens.
