So just a bit of background because many people use mermaid and siren interchangably, however sirens where actully beatiful women (2-5 in number depending on the author) who had the wings and lower bodies of a bird and luered sailors to their deaths. Also not to be confused with harpees, as harpees where ugly and evil while sirens where beatiful and alluring. There was a prophecy that the sirens would die should someone ever sail past their isand unharmed, wich Oydeuss manged to do. Some believed that instead of dying they jumped into the ocean and grew fins, hence the confusion with mermaids (wether or not they became them).
