Peter Parker and the Avengers

Field trip part 1

Peter was sitting in class, desperately waiting for Mr Harrington to stop talking and for the bell to ring. This was the last period of the day and hence, he would be heading to the compound soon. Nat was going to be back from a mission tonight and Thor was supposed to visit from Asgard, he could barely contain his excitement.

Driiiiing!

The bell finally rang pulling Peter out of his thoughts. He, along with all the other students shot out of his seat and started collecting his stuff. Only, before they could all actually leave the room, Mr Harrington spoke. ''Just a minute class, I have an important announcement. We're going to be going on an extremely special and exciting field trip to..." Everyone held their breath, this was the make or break of a field trip. "... the Avengers compound!" The entire class (except from Peter and MJ, who was too engrossed in her book to care) erupted into cheers and celebratory cries. Peter, on the other hand, groaned and shook his head. His family was going to make his life hell. As they all left the classroom the teacher handed them permission slips and when Peter tried to slip past him without taking one, Flash, who had been relatively calm all day had to say something. He just couldn't keep his mouth shut!  "Mr Harrington, Peter doesn't have a slip." The teacher sighed and handed Peter a permission slip. "Have this signed Mr Parker, I'll be seeing you on Friday." Only Flash didn't stop there, when Peter was in the hallway, his bully called out. "Yo Penis! Now everyone's going to know your internship is a lie!" Peter just groaned and speed walked up to Ned and MJ. His best friend was still freaking out about the field trip and practically bouncing on his feet. "This is so cool Peter, maybe we'll get to meet some Avengers!!" "You've been to the tower plenty of times Ned! You slept over five days ago, they know you on first name basis for god's sake!" "But this is different Peter, we're going to be with school!" At that Peter sighed and looked at MJ. She just shrugged and said.  "You're on your own loser." Peter frowned and sprinted down the hallway to the outdoors."I gotta go anyways, Happy's waiting! See you tomorrow!"

When Peter got to the car he greeted Happy in his usual fashion and they continued their routine in which the boy would energetically go through the events of the day and receive grunts and remarks in return. Happy would never admit it but he really liked Tony's kid. If the Black Widow loved Peter, who couldn't. Only today, he noticed Peter was less energetic and more glum. "Hey kid, what's up?" "We have a field trip to the compound tomorrow."Peter mumbled his answer but it made perfect sense. The earth's mightiest heroes sure loved their spiderling, more liked loved embarrassing him but all in all the boy was going to suffer on Friday. Meanwhile, Peter was thinking about all the ways he could hide the field trip from the Avengers. Unfortunately, you can't keep secrets for long with assassins and spies in most rooms.

As the car approached the compound Peter couldn't help but still be in awe of all this "avengering" stuff. Most days of the week he stayed over at the compound, he even had his own room. Aunt May worked the night shift most nights and when Tony found out he decided he wanted the kid to stay with him and the others. He didn't think Peter should be alone, especially with him being spider-man most nights. When he got to the compound Peter went through the staff door, subsequently avoiding the front desk and the extra unnecessary security measures. He scanned his ID card and was greeted by FRIDAY. "Peter Parker "little stark", Alpha level 10. Hello Peter, how was your day, would you like me to inform Tony and the Avengers of your arrival?" "Sure Fri, my day was good."Peter didn't say anything about the field trip (the Avengers had eyes and ears everywhere) as he headed to living quarters of the compound, leaving the chipper A.I. behind him as he entered the lift. The doors of the private elevator opened revealing some of the Avengers in a heated game of Mario Kart. "Hey Peter, I'm totally crushing Birdie over there." "That's a lie Clint!" Clint and Sam started an argument and Peter decided it would be better to simply ignore them and come out unscathed. The less attention, the longer they would go without knowing about the field trip. Tony Stark walked into Peter's line of sight. "Hi Mr Stark!" "Hey kid! How was school?" "School was fine" "How are you doing with the girl you have a crush on, MJ right?... Wait where are you going?" "Homework...gotta go." Tony just shook his head as the boy sprinted to his room closing the door securely behind him. When the door was safely locked, Peter put the permission slip under his mattress, it wasn't brilliant but it was better than nothing. He hadn't been lying when he'd said he had homework so that's what he did for the remainder of the evening.
