I dragged her though out the hallways and up a few flights of stairs. Showing her all there was to show as I went. She stayed quiet, but paid close attention. I’m sure if we were going any slower, she would have started taking notes. When we finally reached the Library, her eyes lit up. She slowly began to walk forward, and unnoticeably walked into Dale. As they both fell, he tried to catch himself, only to knock over chairs on his way down.
I covered my eyes until the noise ended, and Dale started yelling at Aeoie, who started to cover her ears. I guess loud noises wasn’t something she’s use to. As quiet as she was, I wouldn’t be surprised. I couldn’t stand seeing her that way, so I stepped in. “Dale! Cut it out, you idiot. She said she was sorry. Leave it at that.” I then reached down, and helped her up, picking up her things after. Dale saw me stoop down and begin to pick up her things, so he did the same.
Dale, one of my most idiotic friends. That’s probably why I like him so much. When I wasn’t angry, he practically worshiped me. Followed me in the hall, took and carried my crap around. Even when I told him not to.
“Here, I’m sorry for yelling at you. I just wasn’t expecting you to run into me. I swear it won’t happen again.” He said as he looked over to me.
I nodded, and he left us alone. For someone who’s actually almost two years older than I am, he sure kissed my ass.
I put her stuff down, and showed Aeoie around the Library. The isles reached over her head, and she tried her best to stand on her toes to see over them. Occasionally knocking over a book… or six in the process. She was a cluts. A cute cluts though, I’ll give her that. As she reached down to pick up the tumbled books, I sat beside her. “So, where do you think Xenilla went?” I asked.
“Xenny usually always disappears. I’m not sure when she’d be back though. She took her stuff from the looks of it, so I’m probably going home alone.” She answered as she looked though the shelves, trying to find where the books went.
I took one from her hand. A hardback book, black with shades of purple and blue. I flipped through the pages and glanced at the drawings. I guess it was a book for witchcraft, or the study of witches. I eventually closed the book from boredom, and placed it on the shelf. “Well, I’m gonna go take a nap. Last class of the day, and we spend it in the Library for a while. Not sure if you know this,” I said as I started walking to the tables. “But the teacher for this class recently went into labor. So, we’re spending the remaining classes for the marking period in here.”
I sat and placed my book bag on the table, pulling out my phone, and ear buds, I got comfortable. Aeoie, on the other hand, stood across from me. I haven’t known her long, at all in fact, but I could feel her as she looked around. After a few seconds, I opened my eye and looked at her. “Gonna sit down, or what?”
I’m not sure why, but she jumped, almost as if to be startled from the question. I kicked a chair from under the table, and she sat. Placing her things on her lap, she pulled out her little pad again. I still can’t tell what she was doing with that. After trying to sneak a peek a few times while she wasn’t looking, I decided to play it cool. Keeping my eyes closed, I asked casually. “What do you draw in that, Aeoie?”
