I reached the table, where two girls sat waiting. “Sorry for the wait, ladies.” I said as I placed down the plates. “If it’s a little cold, let me know. It’s my fault.”

“Maybe we could call you for other things.” The red haired girl said, beating her long eye lashes at me.

I laughed a bit. “Enjoy your meal, ladies.” I said before I turned and focused my attention to Aeoie and Xenilla.

“Sorry again about getting your order messed up.”

“Why be sorry?” Xenilla asked, seeming not to be actually interested.

“Well, it’s my job to get your order right.”

“Well, we didn’t order anything. Besides,” She said as she looked over. “You’re only human, after all.”

What was that? Was she complementing me, or was she challenging me? I looked down at her dumb folded. There was a slight tug at my sleeve. To my left was Aeoie, who was still fighting her blushing face. “So…” She started. “Are you going to take our order?”

“Right,” I said as I shook my head. “Go when you’re ready.”

Xenilla was first. Ordering different things from everything A to Z. Desserts included. Skipping things that looked or sounded healthy. Aeoie on the other hand ordered the house salad with bacon a soda.

“This might take a while, as long as your order is.” I stole a glance at Xenilla. “But, I’ll come back and forth as your plates are made.”

“I told you not to order everything at once. Told you, you should wait and choose different things a different day, instead of doing things all at once.”

Wow… was this Aeoie being the older sister? Maybe I should say something…

                “Aeoie is right, Xenil-“

“Stay out of it.” Xenilla snapped, cutting me off.

Okay, maybe I shouldn’t say anything.

“Xenny, you know Daddy is going to be upset if we go over our limit. And Mother will be upset if we don’t eat dinner. You know how she is when she is upset.” She said, fear in her eyes.

Xenilla bit her lip. Obviously afraid of what her sister had said.

“Um, David…” She paused and cleared her throat. “I would like to change my order.”
