I sat up and looked at her. For a moment, I knew who she was, but at the same time, I didn’t. She looked different… somehow. “Yeah, because staring makes everything better.” She said as she rolled her eyes.
“Oh, um... sorry. What… what are you doing here?” I asked, obviously dumb folded.
“What does it look like I’m doing here? I’m a customer and you’re a waiter. I was also told you give good food here. So, I came.” She said as she put her palm on her forehead. “So, you going to sit me, or what?”
I shot up. “Of course.” I said as I lead her to a table. “Table for one, I presume?”
“Why, because I’m the only one here? No, Aeoie will be here soon.”
For some reason, my hands got sweaty, and I began to breathe heavier. Aeoie will be here? Of course not long after, she came rushing through the door, arms filled with bags. “Xenny, Xenny! They have the greatest stores close by!” She yelled with a smile as she looked around for her sister.
But before she found the sight of her sister, she found the sight of me, setting down drinks to another table.
She instantly went quiet and ran over to her sister. Covering her face with the bags. “What are you all shy about?” Xenilla asked as she took a sip of her soda.
“What? Shy, no. Nothing, no reason… have you ordered yet?” She said as he barricaded herself under the menu.
“Oh, I get it. Your boyfriend is here.” She laughed to herself and put her hand into the air and began to snap. “Hey, waiter? We’re ready to order.”
I hung up the last table’s order and began to work my way to Xenilla and Aeoie, when James moved into my view and greeted himself as their waiter. Not sure if it was a save, or something else. If he finds them attractive enough, he’ll just start hitting on them. I sighed, but worked my way to the back.
“They are new. Never seen them around before.” Cat said as she cut up vegetables and threw them into a pan.
“Who?” I asked as I picked plates up off the counters.
“The twins there. Never seen them around before.”
I looked up to see who she was referring to. “Oh, the twins? Aeoie and Xenilla.”
Cat looked over to me as if I had answered a lifelong mystery. “You mean, you know them?”
“Well, I don’t know them all that much, but they started attending my school yesterday. Xenilla left unexpectedly, but Aeoie remained until the end of the day.” I said as I began to pile up dirty plates in the sink.
