The image above is how I imagine Kai to look (except she's 24 not 22 oops) - I drew this and designed her lightsaber and Jedi robes outfit. But obviously, imagine her to look however you like :3 enjoy!

My eyes open slowly and I wake up to BB-4 softly nudging my arm telling me it's time to wake up. I've told BB to wake me up when I've been sleeping in too long. After last night's events, I'm not surprised I slept a little longer than usual. "Thanks BB, I'm up." They beep and whirr at me asking if I feel better

"Yeah, I feel a lot better. I need to go find out if Luke and the other padawans are ok." I stand up from my bed and stretch all my stiff muscles out. Then I cringe as I take note of how dirty my hair and skin are, I hadn't had to chance to shower since id left the temple because I'd been busy travelling so, I walk into my bathroom and decide to have one now.

After my shower I go over to my bag and grab out my Jedi robes, I mostly wear them when I am not wearing my pilot's uniform because they are more comfortable than most of the other clothes I own. Also, because they were important to the Jedi of the past so they are important to me because they represent who I am. They consist of a light grey collared t-shirt robe thing under another slightly darker grey layer of fabric, with a brown leather belt, grey pants and black lace-up boots. I grab my Lightsaber as well out of my bag and attach it to my belt. I also usually wore my dark brown cloak with it but seeing as it was quite warm today, I decided to leave my quarters without it.

I walk swiftly to the command centre, BB-4 hot on my tail. As I reach my destination, I realize it's quite busy, pilots and other resistance members alike are all standing around the command table as General Organa briefs them all on something. I spot the top of Leia's head through the crowd and start to push my way through to her, squeezing between people as they all try to peek at the hologram of a planet currently being displayed. Finally, I reach her and tap her softly on the shoulder. She stops whatever speech she was saying and all eyes are suddenly on our discussion. Quietly I say to her. "Sorry to interrupt General, but why are we looking at a map of Yavin 4? That's where the Jedi temple is."

She looks at me, her dead serious expression sends chills down my spine. This can't be good news. "Kai. Good to see you up." She tries to fake a smile and sound happy but I send her a glare telling her to just tell me. She sighs before continuing. "I'm afraid we've lost all contact with Luke, and locals in the area are reporting to have seen smoke during the night." My heart suddenly sinks into my stomach. The colour drains from my face as I realize what this could mean for Luke and my fellow Padawans. I'm not sure I'd be able to handle it if anything bad had happened to them, especially Ben or Luke.

"I Have to go check it out."

"That's what we were discussing. We are going to send a squadron to Yavin 4 and see what's happened." I start to interject about how I need to be on that mission but she starts talking again before I can get a word in. "Don't worry you'll be with them." She then turns and gestures to a pilot to her right. "This is Captain Dameron, he'll be leading the mission." I meet his gaze and give him a nod of respect. For some reason, I hadn't seen him around the base before.

"Hi, we haven't met, I'm Kai Jenkins," I say extending my arm out.

"Hi, Poe Dameron. Apparently, I've been on missions every time you'd returned." He says and shakes my hand.

"Unlucky I guess." I give him a quick smile and turn back to Leia. "What about my fighters in gold squad? I know I just got back but I've been dying to fly with them again." I say.

"Just you and Dameron's squad today, I can't spare that many pilots for one mission. The base still needs to be protected." Leia answers. I nod knowingly.
