Living a Lie

Chapter 10: No Parents

Brody went home the next day after school. I couldn't wait till Friday night, the next morning when Brody slept over my cousin Janet came over and asked if I wanted to come to her 21st birthday party. Me and Janet have always been really close and mum would trust her with my life. When she saw Brody and I explained that he was my best friend she asked if he wanted to come too so I wouldn't be the only kid there. She said no parents were going to be there, so I was guessing it was going to be loads of fun. I loved watching drunk people going around bumping into stuff and saying their true feelings it was hilarious. Mum allowed me to go but I was still waiting for Sadie's answer. Mum had explained to her that Janet wouldn't let anything happen to us. But she was still a bit unsure and said she had to talk to Brad, Brody's dad.

It was Friday morning, if Brody didn't answer today he wouldn't be able to go. I got out of bed and texted him:

Me: r u coming or not? C.C xx

Brody: I'll go ask again. B.$$

Me: if u can't get an answer out of her now u won't be able 2 come. C.C xx

Brody: SHE SAID YES!!! B.$$

Me: YAY C U AT HELL ( SCHOOL ) haha lol. C.C xx

I got dressed the quickest I have ever got dressed and headed to the bus stop where Brody would be waiting. When I got there he wasn't there which was unusual. I started to get nervous. I waited for 5 minutes until Brody came around the block.

"Where were you I was getting scared you wouldn't come!" I screamed

"Actually your not supposed tone here for another 5 minutes" he said matching my tone.

"Oh sorry I guess I'm just excited about tonight" I said giving him a hug " I can't believe she said yes!" I squealed

" I can she usually makes up her mind straight away then tells me the day before I go."

The day was long and boring I had the worst subjects:

Cooking
In cooking we were making cupcakes so Brody and asked if we could make a single cake for Janet. The cooking teacher loves us so she said yes and even gave us frosting and sprinkles.

We got off the bus and we both went home to get changed. Janet said to wear something nice so I put on my favourite dress it was yellow with lace over the bust, it was strapless and the bottom flowed out stoping mid thigh. There was a ring at the door. I opened the door to see a dressed up Brody wearing a blue checked dress shirt and a pare of black jeans, his hair falling messily over his eyes. Mum dropped us off out the front and we went in together. We gave Janet the cake who was surprised at our extra gift. We went out the back on the deck where music was blasting and a mini bar had been set up. People were already drinking and I recognised a few of them. Janet's best friend Maddy was there I walked over to her and she gave me a tight hug. She already stunk of alcohol. I sat down with Brody on the old swing set drinking a soda. I didn't really like soda but its the only thing I knew didn't have alcohol in it. We had been here for 1 hour and a half and nothing exciting had happened.

" C.C, Brody come over here." Janet called. We got up and walked over to her. " it's party game time!" She called and everyone cheered and hooted. She set up the pin the tongue on the Miley. Which is basically pin the tail on the donkey but pinning a picture of a tongue onto a twerking Miley Cyrus. No one got it, most of them were too drunk to walk straight but it was funny anyway. Brody ended up winning and they gave him an non alcoholic drink.

"Mm this is really good" Brody said taking a big swig.

"Next game, pass the parcel." Janet screamed.

We all sat in a circle, well the ones who weren't asleep or vomiting. The music started and the parcel went around the circle. It landed on me and I in wrapped the first layer of news paper. I got a nail polish. Some of the prizes were disturbing. It was so funny Brody got a disposable g string. After that we played pinnate and Janet ended up smashing it with a cricket bat....

I don't know what happened but the next morning I woke up with a pounding headache and in an unknown bed. I looked around at my surroundings. It was Aunty Karen and uncle hanks bed. Brody was on the floor with a bucket next to him. The room reeked of vomit. Brody had been dared to do the chubby bunny challenge. I went out side into the kitchen I looked around for some panadol the music was so loud last night we had a screaming karaoke challenge it was hilarious I don't remember anything after that.
