"Mum dad I'm home." I called
The smell of chocolate chip cookies instantly hit my nose. I walked in to the kitchen where mum was baking. she was bent over in the opposite direction getting the second batch of cookies out of the oven. this was saying to me that it's safe for me to grab a cookie while she wasn't looking. I reached my hand out to grab a cookie
"Uh, you dare, other wise there will be none later." Mum yelled. sheesh I swear she has eyes in the back of her head, literally.
"Why what's happening later?" I asked. now that I think of it, it is unusual for her to be cooking afternoon tea.
"Oh, you don't know?"
"Well obviously not. spill!"
"I don't think I should its probably a surprise."
"Please." I begged
"No. go to your room and do some homework."
"Muuuum" I said drawing it out to stall some time.
"Go!"
I walked to my room and sat on my bed as I started to do my home work as I turned the page Brody's note fell out. I stared at it for a long time the memories of today came flooding back. I realised how much of a bitch I was.
*ding dong*
"C.C can you get the door please." mum called down the hallway.
I got up with a groan feeling like a complete bully.
I opened to door finding myself face to face with Brody.
"Hey" Brody said holding a bouquet of flowers. this was definitely not what I wanted right now.
"AAhhhhhh!" I screamed shutting the door in his face but some how the door didn't completely shut I looked down to find Brody's foot in the door way. I opened the door back up so I didn't hurt him.
"Well that wasn't nice" he said with a cocky smile.
"What are you doing here, how did you find my house?" asked in a state of shock.
"Well there's thing called your mum and I rang her up on the thing called the telephone and asked if I could come over tonight." He said as if I were 3 years old.
"Hey is that the gorgeous Brody!" mum called from the kitchen. instantly my face flushed red.
"It is thank you." Brody called back. Brody and I walked into the kitchen. And he handed the bouquet to me so I put it on the counter this was probably an apology but he shouldn't to be the on to apologise.
"Mum what the hell, you don't just call a boy get gorgeous when you hardly know them!" I explained
"Exactly that's why I called him gorgeous because I know him very well."
"What did you know Brody before I did?" I asked
"Of corse I was at the hospital when he was born, I wouldn't miss Sadie's first child's birth."
Sadie's mums best friend. In high school mum and Sadie's promised to to be there for each other giving birth.
I turned to Brody "your BJ."
"Guilty as charged" he said
I gave him a huge hug. I knew I've known Brody my whole life and this was my proof. I pulled back and the expression on his face was total shock. I hadn't seen BJ since preschool.
"Mum we're going to my room." I said I know how wrong it sounded but honestly he's my best friend.
"Um no your not.."
"Ewwwww mum your so immature.."
I started until mum cut me off
"... Without these"
She handed me the plate full of cookies. my mouth was watering. I walked Brody and the plate of cookies to my room. I opened the door and went inside. Brody made himself comfortable on my bed and we dug into the cookies.
"So what doooo you want to do?" Brody said drawing out the do and swaying back and forth.
"I don't know truth or dare, 20 questions, kiss kill marry, would you rather?" I said giving him a few options.
"Truth or dare" he said immediately
"Ok you go first" I said to him
"Truth or dare?" he asked
"Truth"
"Do you like Luke?"
"As in like like or as a friend"
"Love"
"No, truth or dare."I said with a little smile
"Dare"
"I dare you to go into the kitchen and twerk in front of my mum." I said laughing at the thought.
I walked with Brody to the end of the hallway only sticking my head out so mum couldn't see me. Brody went and stood in front of my mum and started to twerk quite passionately.
*queue Charlie*
"Mum I'm home, what the flipping hell!"
I started cracking up. I doubled over in laughter only realising that I had to pee. I quickly got to the toilet just in time. when I got out Brody was on my bed ready to continue the game.
"C.C truth or dare."
"Truth"
"C'mon take a risk"
"Oh hell no!"
"Ok remember when we were little and we said we would get married, do you still think that?"
