I wrote this story years ago. I'm just now finding time to come back and repair some of its weak spots. This will take me some time, but I don't want to unpublish the story since people still seem to be enjoying it.
I've pulled some knowledge from documentaries and reading, so some of the cultural and religious stuff will be at least somewhat accurate. Other parts of it will be way off as I take creative liberties. To be fair, a lot of what we think we know about ancient Egypt is hypothetical at best. Such is the curse of archeology.
The plot for this book is going to loosely follow Night at the Museum. However, Anerla is my character, so obviously I want to focus on her. Also, I don't find much creativity in following the script exactly. Instead, I want to use it as a guide.
Obviously I am not a famous director, actor, or anything like that, so I can't take credit for anything but my characters and some of the plot. I do proofread these like a hundred times before posting, but some stuff may be really messed up so I apologize in advance. For example, some sections will be in different points of view. I hope that I always make it obvious. If I don't, please tell me so I can go back and make it clear. Also, if you see quotes written like this "-(enter words here)-" Then that means the person is speaking in Egyptian.
I want to express how much I've appreciated all the support this story received over the years. This was my first public endeavor in writing, and it was a really scary hurdle to overcome. I've missed seeing new comments and being able to engage with the readers. I'm looking forward to doing edits. I want to promise that it will be consistent, but I'm not entirely sure. My motivation tends to come in bursts. I hope you can all still enjoy the story as I go, and I look forward to engaging with you all.
Thank you!
