Chapter 02

Reige

It's been a tiring day for me. What happened earlier was something I didn't expect. And I swear to God if I ever see that freaking charming guy again, I will surely beat him up for stealing a kiss from me. I'm fuming mad whenever I remember it.

After that incident, some of Lola's men rescued me, thanks to Raven. Then our private doctor treated my wounds, hindi naman masyadong malala ang mga iyon, I just need some rest until it heals. It only means that I won't be in school for a week. Hehe.

I'm beginning to feel a headache whenever I overthink. I'm thinking about the incident earlier, it's still a mystery to me why someone wants to end my life. I'm trying to figure out something, and even connect some threads of information that I know. But unfortunately, I still don't have an answer to my unending questions. Dahil ayokong maistress masyado, I decided to relax by watching something. Hindi din naman ako dinadalaw ng antok kahit napakalalim na ng gabi. But I was a bit surprised when I heard someone spoke out of the blue.

"This is another day that Seven Reige Collins got escaped from death again. Lucky you."

I rolled my eyes and straighten up my seat and leaned my head on the headboard. I was watching an episode of One Piece when a woman with a purple hair popped up from my veranda's door. It's no other than my crazy bestfriend, Zhei. She's here in my room. In her black pajamas with some We Bare Bears prints on it. I gave her a grimaced look but she just scoffed and rolled her eyes.

What the heck is she doing here in this late hour at night?

"Ah! Before you say anything stupid, I climb my way up here, just so I could see you."

I wanted to ask her kung hindi ba uso sa kanya ang pagdaan sa main door, but I know that she will throw another crazy response to me again. That's why I chose to say:

"Well, I know that a crazy little brat like you couldn't fly."

"Tsh! You either."

"But I'm not a crazy little brat." I retorted which made him gape and put her left hand in her chest.

"Am I ... really your bestfriend, Reige? Your words are hurting me, you know." she really emphasized the word bestfriend, as she dramatically say those. But she just received another scoff from me.

"Get out of my room, Cortez."

Instead of following what I said, I saw her rolled her eyes as she went to my mini-fridge. She was humming something but I couldn't recall what song it is. After several seconds, she sat on the edge of my bed and threw the canned cola to me. Thanks to my fast reflexes, I managed to catch it.

"So, how are you?" she asked with a hint of worried tone as she stood and went to pick up some chips near the mini-fridge.

"I got shot. But I'm fine." I turned off my phone. Mamaya na ako manonood.

"We're all glad that you're safe Reige. Does it still hurts?" dinig ko ang pagbukas niya sa canned cola. When I looked at her, I saw the hint of concern in her eyes that she's been hiding through her facade, napansin yata nitong parang binabasa ko siya kaya agad siyang nag-iwas ng tingin. Though kahit hindi niya sabihin, I know that she felt worried when Raven told her about what happened. Thinking about that melts my heart. Well, honestly, we're all like that. I meant Zhei, Raven and I. We're fond of hiding our true feelings through our masks, especially the feeling of being scared and being worried.
