Chapter 3: Betrayal

A/N: Hello everyone, I just have one thing to say and then I'm through, stay tune till the end of the chapter for I have a little surprise for y'all. Alright onto this hopefully decent chapter.

*The next morning*

As the sun rose up, the light shines into Naofumi's room causing him to wake up from his slumber. Getting out of bed, Naofumi walks over to the window to take a glance outside.

Naofumi: "*yawns* Ok. Down stairs for some breakfast and then head out."

As Naofumi turns around to go get change into his newly bought equipment, he notices that it is missing. Because of that, he starts to search the entire room finding that not only was his new equipment gone but also the rest of his belongings.

Naofumi: "It's gone! The silver, the chain mail, and even my own clothes that I was keeping for when I get to go back home. No way, I was robbed in my sleep!"

With this realization, Naofumi books it out of his room and heads to his two other party members' rooms. Getting to (Y/N)'s room first, he bangs on the door.

On the other side of the door, (Y/N) is seen fully awake and putting the last of what he has into his pocket dimension. 

(Y/N)'s pov

Naofumi: (Yelling from behind the door) "(Y/N) open up, it's an emergency! Someone robbed us last night!"

I then look over at the door, surprised that not even a week in and someone is already stealing our stuff.

(Y/N): "What?! I'll be out in a minute."

Quickly I leave the room but not before grabbing my pistol, from under the pillow, and putting it in its hostler. Once outside the room, I walk over to Naofumi, who is banging on the door to Myne's room. 

Naofumi: *Banging on the door*  "Myne open up, all our money and equipment has been stolen!"

As he keeps trying to get Myne's attention, I hear a door swing open and multiple metal footsteps coming from the bottom floor. 

Naofumi: *turns the doorknob* "You still asleep in there? Wake up, we're in serious trouble!"

From the stairs, a group of knights emerge and surround the both of us.

(Y/N): "Uh, Naofumi? We got visitors."

Naofumi: *looks at the knights* "You guys are knights, from the castle right? I'm glad you're here, listen-"

Knight: "The shield hero and serious hero, yes?"

Naofumi: "Yes that's right."

(Y/N): "What's up?"

Knight: *steps forward* "The king has issued a summons for the both you, you're to come with us."

Naofumi: "Huh?"

(Y/N): *pulls out his pistol and holds it by his side* "And what if we don't comply?"

Knight: "*sigh* We figure you would say that." *nods to another knight*

From behind me, a knight slowly approaches and then uses the blunt part of his weapon to hit me in the back of my head, knocking me out.

No one's pov

When (Y/N) hits the floor, Naofumi, shocked at what just happen, was about to say something to the knight but before he could the knight beats him to the punch.

Knight: (Threatening) "Say anything and you'll end up like him."

Naofumi then shuts up as the knight looks behind him at two other knights.
