Chapter 6: Dungeon Crawl With a Side of Mental Part 1

No-one's pov

About a day or two has past since their visit to the Village of Lute and the eventful trip into an abandoned mine. After their visit was completed, the party of four decided to remained in Lute for a bit of time while continuing to grind out levels in the surrounding area. With all the ore they gathered, the shield hero's party manage to make a decent amount of money off it after accounting for rooms and food.

As a new day begins in Lute Village with the sun raising in the background, we open this chapter up outside of the local inn/tavern. Heading inside to the tavern part of the establishment, we find our four heroes sitting at a table with (Y/N) and Silvervale on one side and Naofumi and Raphtalia on the other side. Currently, they each, apart from Naofumi, were in the middle of enjoying their own breakfast. For (Y/N), he was enjoying a typical breakfast consisting of bacon, scramble eggs, and a few pancakes alongside a cup of coffee. For Silvervale, she was having a huge stack of pancakes, that was drench in maple syrup, and a sausage with a cup of coffee of her own. For Raphtalia, she was having a kids breakfast of sunny side up eggs and 2 pieces of bacon with a cup of orange juice. For Naofumi, he was having a bacon and egg biscuit with a cup of water to drink though he couldn't taste anything at all leaving Naofumi with a disgruntled look on his face.

Setting the food aside and grabbing his cup of water, Naofumi lets out a sigh before downing some of his water.

Naofumi: *sets the cup down* Alright, we'll head out once you guys finish up eating. So hurry up before we lose anymore time."

(Y/N): "Hey, man there's no need to rush. Monster's aren't going anywhere."

Raphtalia: *looks to Naofumi* "What are we doing today, Master Naofumi?"

Naofumi: "No clue. Just whatever we can do to quickly get stronger before the next wave."

Silvervale: (talking with her mouth full of pancakes) "Mmmm, ghow out we gos to a gungeon?"

Naofumi and Raphtalia: (simultaneously) "Huh?"

(Y/N): (confused) "I'm sorry, I don't speak mumbles. Care to repeat that with less mumbles?"

Silvervale: "I sorrie... *swallows her food* What I was saying was how about we go to a dungeon? You know fight some hideous monsters, avoid traps and solve puzzles, and at the end find some epic loot which we will then take as our own. *raises her cup in the air* Like true adventurers, huzzah!"

After she finished yelling out her idea, everyone in the tavern turns their attention towards the shield hero's table, causing the entire atmosphere throughout the tavern to come to a standstill. After a second of continual staring, everyone soon goes back to minding their own business as the tavern returns to a lively mood.

Naofumi: "Can't say I disagree with the idea but there is one problem. Where in this 'wonderful' could we go to find a dungeon that A: is close by, B: we are prepared to handle, and C: one that those three assholes haven't already emptied out?"

Silvervale: *rubbing the back of her head* "Well- Ummm?"

(Y/N): "Actually I got the perfect place we all could head to and cause some serious damage to Mental. Naofumi you should hopefully remember this place."

Then moving his plate and drink off to the side, (Y/N) reaches behind his back and pulls out his map before laying it out on the table for the other three to see. On that map there was a red circle around a forest north of the team's current location.

(Y/N): *points at the marked area* "Now it may not be the closest dungeon to us and most of us may not have the right type of equipment BUT I can guarantee that the place has still been left untapped since the last time me and Naofumi were there."
