Rebecca wakes up to the feeling that someone other than herself is close to her bedroom. Whoever it is, is watching her waking up with pent-up excitement. She opens her eyes and looks in the direction of the presence in her room, only to find Hawkeye peaking at her over the roof of the tower.

His eyes are gleaming with excitement and looking cuter than ever. Rebecca, could not help smiling at the small griffonhawk. He flutters into her bedroom without a sound and stretches out on the bed next to her.

"Your majesty, I bring news. You have a traitor in the kingdom. One that is reporting to the enemy directly. News of your coronation is spreading like wildfire, beyond the borders of our kingdom. I have not been able to pinpoint his location, but perhaps the information would help you to be more careful around the people working in the castle," Hawkeye informs her.

"Secondly, it seems that Triston is not who he claims to be. I have it under good authority that he renews a spell upon himself daily. I have been unable to find out what type of spell it is," Hawkeye continues none stop.

"The reason I came is I found some critical information regarding our neighboring kingdoms. The king's council is coming up this winter and the court has deliberately held this information from you, out of fear that you might accept the invitation and like your parents, head to your doom. With no heir, they cannot take that risk."

Rebecca stands up at this point and starts to get dressed.

"They are not disclaiming you as a leader, but are more afraid of losing their queen, that has only just proven herself worthy of the throne," Hawkeye finish.

"What is the king's council about?" Rebecca asks.

"Every five years the council comes together to discuss trade routes, share information and try to keep the peace among the kingdoms. It is also a means for the rulers to communicate in a friendly environment. Every ruler is only allowed to bring their family, elite guard, and up to three advisors," replies Hawkeye.

"Sounds like a political playground for the high society. When was the last time the Golden Valley attended the king's council?" Rebecca asks as she checks her image in a mirror she has fastened to a wall.

"It has been twenty winters since. The rumors of your coronation have reached the royal families of the king's council and if you don't invite them, they will see it as a sign that you are not a part of the king's council. If you don't go to the king's council you will be seen as a coward. As a result, Dragonvale will be attacked and all trade routes from the village will be cut off from the Golden Valley. We will be cut off from the rest of the continent." Hawkeye informs her.

"Who advised the king's council on the necessary steps to be taken in this regard? This person is pushing me in a corner to leave the protection of the Golden Valley," Rebecca asks Hawkeye.

She narrows her eyes at her mirror image.

Could Drachna have a political hold on a human kingdom? That means he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. If Drachna possesses this much knowledge it means he could find another way into the Golden Valley. He could even have someone that can influence her directly. If he can't influence her to his desire this same person could still report to Drachna directly.

I need to get someone close to Triston that can report about him. The only problem with this picture is that doesn't fit. Is Triston's loyalty to Lirian. Looks like I am going to have to follow the secrets until the truth is revealed. Only then will I know what to do.

"Did you find the source of the rumor while delivering my letter?" Rebecca asks.

"Queen Marilyn was kind enough to provide me with the information. Ristheart's paladin knights traced the rumor to its source. Drachna sent a letter with King Rothguards royal seal, advising the king's council on an appropriate course of action if you don't show up at the king's council. Ristheart threatened the king's council that they will remove their support if they continue to follow King Rothguard's advice and not the fox of fate." Hawkeye says.
