Under the willow

The tribute parade

Rue and Thresh had been placed in the farmer clothes for the tribute parade. Willow rolled her eyes as she saw them dragging both of them away. She dragged them into a unisex bathroom and shoved them into two stalls. Throwing things over for them to change into. Willow had gotten permission from president snow to change her tribute parade outfits if they were stupid and look ridiculous. 

She had covered as stylist one year when district 11 did not have one. She finished handing over the clothes stepping back to lean against the counter. The two came out at the same time changed. Rue had a pair of blue flower sandals, armband, crown, earrings, and necklace. (A/N I'm aware in the pic the shoes are heels but I liked them the best and I feel like rue wouldn't do heels)  Thresh looked more like he was working fake dirty jeans a wheat shirt and a reaper sword. 

"That is ten times better," Willow said softly.

"Yea it really is," Thresh replied looking at his outfit in a mirror. One thing that shocks most people is that Thresh loves fashion he has to wake up at 3:30 to 4:00 every day just to have time to pick out what he will be wearing. 

"I actually look pretty," Rue whispers softly standing in front of another mirror. 

"On no Birdy, you're always pretty." Willow said smiling at her as she knelt down to adjust the flower crown. Willow brushed Rues hair back out of her face placing the flower crown on her.

"You want your hair up or down?" Willow asked.

"Down," Rue said softly. 

Willow nodded clipping the flower crown onto Rue's hair to make she it didn't fall off and she also clipped Rue's hair back to keep it out of her face.

The three walked out of the door and they started to make their way towards the carriage they the two would be riding in. When they got their district 12 was just arriving at the other districts were starting to get on to the carriages. Willow adjust the two's outfits on more time before allowed them to get onto the carriage. She handed them both a remote with one button on it. 

"Press this once you're in the middle," Willow told the two. 

Willow stepped back as she watched the district 11 carriage move forward followed by district 12. Chrys put her arm around her shoulder leading Willow to where they could watch. The two girls sat side by side eyes never leaving their siblings.  Suddenly Katniss and Peeta's black outfits were on fire. 

"That is epic," Willow said.

Rue and thresh reached the middle and both pressed the button at the same time. Flowers began to blow around her and a cape that looked like flowers were coming out of it got dropped across her shoulders. Thresh got a cape too but his looked like wheat and other grains were coming out as well as blowing around her. 

Thresh put his arm around Rue's shoulders once more before grabbing her hand and letting Rue hold on as tightly as she needed. 

Willow and Chyrs held hands tightly trying to steady each other. How could this happen to them? How could both of their siblings be in the same games? Who would the choose to save the twelve year old or the girl who promised to come home to her two younger siblings? 

President Snow welcomed all the tributes as each carriage come to a halt and announced the start of the games. The parade, training all of it was just a part of the game. Katniss and Peeta met back up with Chrys Haymitch and Effie as Willow slipped away to go to district 11. 

"You did great." Willow said softly brushing a stray strang of Rue's hair back. 

"I was so scared." Rue said timidly.

"I had know idead you were scared." Willow said.

"How's are chances of getting sponsors?" THresh asked gruffly.

"Pretty good right now maybe back a bit of an alliance with twelve. At least the girl. Their costumes are going to get them a lot of sponsors. I mean fire." Willow told them. 

" I would be fine with that." Rue said brightly.

" I suppose as she wanted to save her two younger siblings maybe she could be trust to work with another twelve year old." Thresh said slowly.

"One promblem though. I have  a feeling that Katniss met avoid an alliance for a bit. I think she knows that as soon as she allies with Rue her chances of going home drop to zero as she'll want to make sure Rue comes home." Willow said softly.

Sighing she grabbed Rue and Threshes hands leading them back to the elevator and up to the floor district 11 was living on.  Chaff and Seeder followed them up the stairs as Willow pushed Thresh and Rue into their bedrooms telling them to get a good night sleep as training would begin tomorrow. 

"Rue's going to ok." Seeder told Willow gently. Chaff and Seeder went to bed soon after leaving Willow up alone. For the first time in well ever Willow grabbed a bottle of achohol and drank. Willow had never taken a drink of acholoal before now but it felt nice.
