" Bēbē, Kī kō'ī maukā hai, maiṁ lāhaura jā sakadā hāṁ? Huṇa citā vadha rahī hai. ( Is there any chance, I can go to Lahore? My anxiety is rising to peak now.) " He said as he fisted his dupatta.

" Jasaprīta, lāhaura tōṁ ika khabara hai. Dagē bahuta zi'ādā hana atē bahuta sārē lōka mārē ga'ē hana, mauhāsina vī. ( Jaspreet, there is a news from Lahore. The riots are high now. Even Mohasin is killed.) " His father informed them.

Arheer shot up, " Atē Ayēshā, Falāka atē salamā māsī bārē kī? "

" Patā nahīṁ. ( Don't know). " His father said.

" Maiṁ tuhānū dasa rihā hāṁ bēbē, kujha galata hai. Ā'iśā khatarē vica hai. ( I am telling you mother, there is something not right. Ayesha is in danger. ) " He said.

" Tusīṁ zi'ādā sōca rahē hō. Salamā nē unhāṁ nū kisē surakhi'ata jag'hā'tē bhēji'ā hōṇā cāhīdā hai. ( You are overthinking, Salma must have sent them to a safe place.) " His mother assured him.

About them, Arheer and Ayesha had been growing up together since the age of thirteen. Gradually, the affection and friendship turned into love. At the age of 21, their ways parted as Mohasin and his family for forced to Lahore.

Both of them hoped that soon the riots and war would be put to an end when the conditions just worsened.

Since August 1947, they both conversed with the only letters they received after every four to five days. But the border couldn't ever part their love.

" Kujha bhōjana khā'ō. Tina dina hō ga'ē hana jadōṁ tusīṁ kujha khādhā hai. ( Eat something. It has been three days since you have eaten anything.) " Jaspreet placed the plate in front of Arheer.

" Nahīṁ. maiṁ takarībana paja patara bhējē hana, phira vī kisē nē javāba nahīṁ ditā. Kī uha khatarē vica hai? ( no. I've sent her almost five letters, yet none is answered. Is she in danger?) " asked anxious Arheer.
