Back In Town

Chapter 10

Emma's POV

It's now Friday it's been a week since Emma and Megan went to the park with Regina. Emma decided to surprise Regina with lunch today, she went into Granny's and ordered her and Regina's lunch. "Hey you eating lunch here with your poor old mother in law" granny said from behind her. Emma turned around and gave her a hug "sorry I can't today I'm going to have lunch with Regina. But on my lunch break Monday we will have lunch together" Emma said while pulling away from granny. 

"You've been spending a lot of time with Regina lately" granny said smiling. Emma just shook her head and laughed at granny "Yeah we have, you know how me and Regina were when we were kids. Were just catching up and Megan loves to hang out with her." Granny just smiled back at the blonde "you seem a lot happier Emma that's all. I'm just really happy to see that maybe, you did need to come back to Storybrooke to get a fresh start. "Yeah maybe I did and I'm just glad Megan's liking it here. But I got to go granny I love you I'll see you tomorrow, just me and you. Emma said while grabbing her order and leaving.

When Emma got to the town hall she stopped by Regina's receptions desk. "Hey I was wondering if I could see mayor Mills" the blonde said. "Let me see, just give me a couple of minutes. While the receptionist was talking to Regina Emma pulled out her phone and texted Daniel.

Emma: Hey how's my daughter, you haven't pumped her up with sugar right? 🤔

Daniel: I have no idea what you are talking. I never give her sugar. 😏

Emma: It's alright because your gonna have to deal with her until Monday so go crazy.😂

Emma: Well I was just checking in on Megan. I have to go tell her I love her. 

Daniel: She says she loves you too. Be safe Em bye.

Emma stopped texting when she heard "sheriff Swan you can go in now" the receptionist said "thank you" the blonde said and then walked into Regina's office 

"Hey madam mayor, don't worry I brought lunch. Don't worry it's your rabbit food with the dressing on the side." Thanks sheriff and it's called a salad some people eat like to eat healthy, how have you been? Regina said while gesturing for Emma to sit in the chair behind her desk. "Well I talked to my Ingrid and Elsa. They're alright I asked Ingrid why she gave me up and I'm getting to know them." The blonde said while siting down and taking everything out of the bag and putting it on the desk. 

"Have they met Megan yet?" Regina said while getting them cups to drink there diet soda. "Well I think I'm going to wait and see how it goes with them first. They know I have a daughter and that I was married because Elsa saw a picture of Megan and Ruby on my desk at the station. But I told them I want them to wait for them to meet Megan later because of everything that's going on right now and I'm trying to keep her life somewhat normal." Emma said.

"How'd they take it?" 

"Well Ingrid and Elsa took it okay I guess, she really wants to met Megan and so does Elsa. But they said they understood why I want to wait. How about you how have you been?" Emma said while taking a bite out of her grilled cheese. 

"Well I've been busy with work and that's really it, my life isn't as exciting as yours is." Regina said "How about dating you aren't dating anyone or have someone special in your life right now Reg. You deserve it." Emma said while looking at her with a thoughtful look. 

"Well I got out of a messy relationship a couple years back and just haven't found the right one yet but I do have someone special in my life but she has a lot going on right now and I don't want to make her life more complicated." Regina said frowning. "Well Reg I think your worth the complications and if the other girl doesn't see that it's there lost, but I hope you find someone. I know what it's like. I tried dating a year ago this girl named Lily. But it didn't work out so I hope it works out for you. Only one of us should be lonely and that definitely shouldn't be you." 

" You shouldn't be lonely either Em you deserve the world especially after everything that you've been through in your life. But you tried dating what happened? If you don't mind telling me?" The brunette said with a nervous look on her face. The blonde just sighed and sat up a little bit in her chair and said. " Well we dating for a year and I guess Megan and I weren't good enough and I found out she was cheating on me." Emma said while looking out the window in Regina's office.

Regina was shocked who would cheat on Emma how could Lily not see how great she had it? She had the most beautiful, smart, funny, strong, and courageous person on the planet and cheated on her and then on top of it she had Megan too. Megan was the most sweet and adorable little girl imaginable how could someone be that stupid and throw it all away. Regina though if I was dating Emma I would never even look at another woman or thing about another one. 

"Emma that girl is stupid. You're a catch even with Megan and I hope you know that. Anybody can see it, she didn't deserve you and you deserved better than her. Don't ever think your not enough because you are, and honestly I think it's the other way around no one deserves you." Regina said with a determine voice and soft eyes to let Emma know she means every single word she said.

"Well on to a much happier note I have the weekend off and your brother is looking after Megan for me." Emma said trying to change the topic because she didn't want to talk about Lily. "What are you going to do since you have the weekend off? Do you have plans?" Regina asked wanting to know because she wanted to hang out with Emma this weekend. 

" Well I have to go to Boston on Saturday for a couple of hours to deal with a case that I closed before I left." Emma said. " That sounds like you don't really have the week off." Regina said joking. " Yeah but I have to go to court and deal with this case. This one hit too close to home the guy was crazy and figured out I was on his case and started stalking me. That's one of the reasons I caught him too. I just need to testify and do the best I can and make sure he get put away for Megan's sake." Emma told Regina worrying about Peter Michaels case. 

"Wait he was stalking you? Did anything happen?" Regina said worrying about Emma and Megan's safety. " Eh just a black eye for me he got the worst end of it. A couple of broken ribs a black eye and a broken nose." Emma said like it was nothing. " You can come with if you have no plans this weekend but if you do I totally understand it. It was just an offer and." Emma, Regina said stopping the blondes rambling " I don't mind I have nothing else better to do this weekend anyways."

"Okay good, well I have to get back to work. I'll see you in the morning I have to be in Boston around 9 the morning do you want me to pick you up or do you want to pick me up? Emma said asking Regina. " I wont drive in that yellow death trap like I told you when we were younger. I'll pick you up." Regina said with a smirk. 

"Hey! Don't talk bad about my beetle, it's been through a lot but it's always had my back when it counts." Emma said defending her Volkswagen beetle. " Okay whatever you say but I wont get in that car." Regina said smirking. "Okay your majesty. I'll see you tomorrow morning around 8 bye Reg." Emma said leaving and heading back to work.
