(3 months later)
The nurse was on her usual rounds. Next on her list was Izuku Midoriya. She had to clean his wounds, change his bandages and their dressings, clean around around his IV's and change the fluid bags attached to them, and adjust his position so he wouldn't get bed sores.
If he was going to wake up, now would be the time. The more time that passed the less likely it is that he will, and so far he'd shown no signs of waking up.

She knew his friends and family very well by now. He had a vase full of fresh flowers in his room everyday from them. His mom visited everyday and so did his classmate Bakugou.

The rest of his class came in a couple times a week.

Although she'd done this a hundred times, this time she felt something was different as she made her way towards the door.

She came in and flicked the light on. She susally didn't do this during her rounds with other patients because she didn't want to wake them up, but she knew that wouldn't happen with him. She figured it was fine and it made her job a little easier, being able to see and all.

She walked to over his bed and gasped.
She smiled and yelled, "Izuku! You're awake!"

No reaction.

He had his eyes open, staring blankly up at the ceiling. She clicked the button near his bed, calling the doctor in.

"How do you feel?" She asked him, sitting down in the chair next to the bed, grasping his hand.
Still no reaction.
He didn't seem to hear or see her. He didn't even react when she grabbed his hand. Her happiness turned into concern and then disappointment. She knew this was a possibility if he woke up.

The doctor came rushing in.

"What is it? What's wrong??" He whisper yelled.

"He's awake." She replied simply, standing up and gesturing towards Deku.

"That's great!" He said, calming down.

"Yeah." She forced a smile.

"Why are you upset? This is amazing."

"Yeah I know, it is. But it's exactly like what you said would happen."

The doctor walked over to Deku. He grabbed the remote to the bed and sat him up. No reaction. He was still staring blankly at nothing.

"We'll he's not brain dead as the MRI's already confirmed. He still breathes on his own and everything functions properly without intervention. But that's it. He can't think and is mostly unaware of everything around him."
The nurse was writing this down for his chart later.

"Let's call his family." The doctor turned and smiled at the nurse. She gave a weak smile in return.

Bakugou rushed through the doors of the hospital, his class close behind him. He glanced at the receptionist who nodded at him.

"Bakugou wait!" His classmates yelled from behind him.
He didn't stop, running towards the stairs, he didn't have time to wait for the elevator.

Climbing the three stories he bolted into Deku's room. He'd been here everyday for the last three months and had seen no change with Deku.
Sure, most of the bandages disappeared and his broken bones healed, but his condition had remained the same.
In fact the only drastic thing to happen was that Deku's hair began growing white. The doctor concluded it was from stress of the incident, but he didn't think that was the whole truth.

Inko was already there, holding her sons hand.

"Izuku!" He yelled. Inko jumped.

"Katsuki. You scared me." She chuckled.
He rushed over to the side of the bed to see Deku with his eyes open.
