Catra's POV

I walk away from her door, slowly, because I don't want to leave her there.

I heard her crying when she told me she didn't love me, but I don't know what that means. If she was crying because she was angry, or because she was sad.

Suddenly, I run into someone.

"Sorry, Catra." Glimmer apologizes. "D-Don't worry about it." I respond. I start to walk away, but Glimmer follows me.

"Wait, Catra. I heard what happened." I stop. 'She heard..?'

"I.. Have an idea, as to how you can learn the truth, and why she's pushing you away," she says. I slowly turn around and look at her.

"But you might not like it."

Shadow Weaver's POV

The door to my garden opens and Catra and Glimmer step through.

Catra looks angry, and Glimmer looks scared, and worried.

"Hi, Shadow Weaver. Catra.. needs your help," Glimmer says while moving back and pushing Catra towards me.

My eyes widen, but they can't see it through my mask. "You. Need my help?" I ask.

"Yes.." Catra says. "With what?" Catra takes a moment to respond. "Can you see Adora's thoughts?"

"Yes, I can. But I'll need to grab some things from in here. If not, I'll have to actually go to her." Catra takes a step forward. "You aren't going anywhere near her," she says.

"Then I'll need to grab my things from in here. Wait for me outside while I create the mixture. You can come in when I say so to read her mind with me."

Catra nods and walks out with Glimmer while I grab my things, readying the mixture.

Catra's POV

Shadow Weaver calls us back inside her garden, and I walk in slowly.

"Catra, stand here, and Glimmer, stand there." Glimmer and I take our places as Shadow Weaver starts.

Within a few seconds, words are being called silently out of thin air.

"Show me her thoughts," Shadow Weaver says, and immediately Adora's thoughts come through the air.

"I can't tell her I love her. I have to keep her safe."

"I love her so much it hurts."

"I'm so sorry, Catra."

"I've caused everyone to much pain. Maybe it'd be better if I was dead."

"Maybe I should jump."

"I could... I have no one to live for. I don't even know my parents."

"No, I won't."

The thoughts stop echoing through the room and now I realize why Adora keeps pushing me away.

I run out of the garden and to Adora's room.

Adora's POV

I sit on my bed, unsure of what to do.

'Apoigize to Catra? No, I can't.'

Before I can think anything else, my door gets thrown open by Catra.

"C-Catra? What are you doing here?" I ask, backing up against the wall, just as I did before Catra kissed me.

"Adora, I know why you keep pushing me away," she says while coming closer.

My eyes widen. 'How?'

"I know that you were doing it to keep me safe. So that you wouldn't hurt me. But you hurt me even more by saying you didn't love me."

Catra is right in front of me now. She sits down on the bed with me and hugs me.

I immediately hug her back, burying my face into her neck.

"But what you don't understand," Catra says while taking something out of her pocket. "Is that you've been fooled this whole time."

I raise my eyebrows and pull away.

Before I can muster any sound of surprise, Catra stabs me.
