(Shawn’s)

I dropped Jen to her apartment here in Philadelphia and Letty said, “Uhm Shawn? Can you not take me home?”

“What? Why?” I asked.

“I just want to go somewhere else.” And she told me the directions. “Hey, I know this place!” I exclaimed but she just smiled.

The trees, the pond, the grass, this place. This place.

Letty used to ask me to drive her to this park and she would tell me her problems and she’ll drink alcohol while telling her deepest sorrows. And those were the times I always carry her home secretly without telling her parents.

“Did we always come here when we were like... you know? Together?” she asked.

“Yeah. You always bring a bottle of vodka or sometimes just a beer with you and scream your lungs out because you’re mad at everything.” I slightly chuckled.

Her mouth formed an O and she laughed. “Did that really happened? And you didn’t stop me? Wow i must’ve had the best boyfriend ever.”

‘HAD’ ?!?! well, that hurts.

I just nodded and hoped that she’ll realize I know her more than she knows herself.
