Same Mistake?

Chan definitely didn't see that coming. But it did and right now there's really nothing they can do but... but stay silent.

It's been days since Hyunjin saw the news more like rumours. Is it even rumours? Because even after days 3racha were still silent about the scandal. And Hyunjin? Hyunjin's not doing very well. He has his phone off and ignores everyone even Minho. Minho and Felix? Both of them tried and did everything they can to get Hyunjin to eat and go out. But nothing was working. Hyunjin's friends were all worried about him needless to say. But at the same time they understood Hyunjin even Minho understood him and even Minho who would get hurt if the 2 gets back together wishes for the rumours to be false. He hated seeing Hyunjin like this. He'd rather switch places with Hyunjin if it meant Hyunjin would be happy. Minho hated Chan more than ever right now. Chan being his competition was one thing but Chan hurting Hyunjin, not only once but twice. He's amazed.

"Hyunjin-ah please open the door. You haven't eaten properly for days." Minho called outside Hyunjin's door he was very worried for the younger. After a few moments of silence Minho heard the door unlock and open.

"Hey" Minho said in a soft voice relieved that Hyunjin finally opened the door.

"I'm hungry" If Hyunjin said that in any other situation Minho would've probably thought that the younger was cute but right now he felt more worried.  Nothing but sadness and maybe confusion was seen in Hyunjin's face. What's he confused about? Minho thought but chose to keep it to himself his priority is to get Hyunjin to eat and not interrogate him.

"Here I made your favourite" In another situation Hyunjin would probably be smiling happily at the older and even hug him but right now he had no strength in doing that. He just gave the older a small smile yet Minho knew that small smile was a genuine one.

"Should I stay or do you wanna be alone?" Minho asked.

"Stay I want company" Hyunjin said smiling at him. Hyunjin looked pretty with a smile.

"If you say so" Minho said as he sat facing Hyunjin. He was watching the younger eat the food he made. He must've been hungry. It continued like that Minho watching and doing small talks until the younger finished. Both of them not even noticing the change of mood in the room. When Minho first entered the mood inside was very sad and even hurt. Now? Now it was lighter and maybe even brighter than before.

"Hyunjin let's talk we're back." After the scandal this was the first text Chan sent him. Hyunjin wanted to get mad but at the same time he felt weirdly okay. Not that there was no anxious and sad feeling there but it was not like before. In a way it's the same but also different. Or so he thought.

"Sure. Just text me the place and time." Hyunjin replied rather fast and calm but still his heart clench. Maybe he is dating someone. Hyunjin thought. Whatever it was Hyunjin mentally and emotionally prepared for it.

After a month and a half the two finally met and as if it was the first time in 2 years things were awkward and even heavy. When the both of them thought they were prepared for this the universe proved them wrong even a person who were just to pass by outside Chan's apartment would feel the sad, broken mood inside the apartment.

"I-I'm sorry" Chan started. Hyunjin has already lost count how many times he heard that from the older.

"That's all you have to say?" Hyunjin said it was obvious he was frustrated. He didn't plan for things to go this way tonight he thought he'd be able to face Chan with this facade as if he was fine but when he finally saw him anger and frustration raged upon him. He felt suffocated. It hurt, hurt so much he wanted to cry then and there but he held it in not right now.

Silence. Silence filled the air and that got Hyunjin even more frustrated.

"Talk! Chan talk! Just tell me! Please" Hyunjin said shouting. At this point he was just begging the other to tell him something he himself didn't want to hear but he had to. He's frustrated because even after all this he still can't get to hate Chan. He wanted to hear it from the older himself even if he already knew. He wants a reason to hate him. Now the tears he held in fell. He was frustrated and angry and sad. He was feeling so many different things at the same time.

"Please, cause you can't tell me you were drunk again this time" Hyunjin said now quieter as he crouched down hugging himself. Finally breaking out of his shell. Chan hugged him Chan himself also crying.

"I'm sorry" was all Chan can say.

"Why Chan? Why!? She was the same person right?" Hyunjin said sobbing on Chan's shoulder as he hit him on his chest even then Chan was still hugging him. Chan can't say anything. He too was a mess he wanted to say something but nothing, nothing was coming out from his mouth.

"She's the same person you were kissing 2 years ago right" Hyunjin said now only sobbing he had no more strength to hit Chan. He already knew the answer of course he knew bu he knows he'll turn a blind eye on it if it doesn't come out from the older's mouth.

Another long silence filled the room with only their sobs.

"Y-yes" Chan finally answered. As if the tears they already wasted wasn't enough more spilled.

"B-but Hyunjin it's not like that" Chan added finally finding his voice. Hyunjin scoffed at that.

"Stop lying to me Chan" Hyunjin said his voice breaking by the end. A more broken tone than he intended to.

"We really aren't a thing Hyunjin not anymore. Please believe me you don't have to forgive me but please." Chan was desperate his tone of voice equally as broken as the younger.

"Then why didn't you deny it? Do you know how I felt all those weeks of silence. Even you yourself didn't deny it to me privately. I felt like my heart was clenching and breaking into pieces everyday. I couldn't even eat..." Hyunjin said once more sobbing his crying resumes. He was tired.

"Because I was confused..." Hyunjin didn't speak wanting him to continue what he was supposed to say.

"I was- I mean I am confused with my feelings... I was- I am happy and comfortable with you I swear... but then when Sana and I spent time together again... I-I wasn't so sure anymore" This was the truth untold. And that hurt Hyunjin more than anything. Right what did he even expect? For Chan to pursue him again? It hurt the thought and revelation that maybe all this time he was the only one holding onto Chan thinking they'll be together again just like before.

After a while Hyunjin wiped his tears and pulled out from the hug. Standing up.

"Thank you... I'm sorry and I love you... I wanted to say that to you for the last time." Hyunjin said getting his things and finally living Chan's apartment. And on the way home. Once more the tears he barely had left spilled.

Both of them may not know this at the moment but both of them needed this conversation. This was the closure that they should've had 2 years ago. But the closure they got that time was full of lies. This on the other hand was the truth. Maybe just maybe this time it'll be easier to let go for the both of them.
