Chapter 2 sudden realization

Damon POV

What just happened? I could of sworn I had that girl secured in my grasp but then she somehow over powered me. This was not going to be the simple task I first assumed that it would be, which was a real pain in the ass because I already had enough on my plate.

Rushing back to the house I ran into Stefan who had Elena hanging off of his arm.

"Hey Damon where did you go?" Stefan asked confused while Elena just stared at me with her innocent eyes.

"I went to investigate our newest town member, tell me Elena how well do you know this Emily character?" I asked Elena while crossing my arms over my chest.

"Not very well, Jenna said she was a friend's daughter and that she would be staying with us for awhile." Elena shrugged as if it was no big deal.

"Well did Jenna happen to mention that your new house guest is a vampire?" it was silent for the next few moments as the information sunk in.

"No, she didn't mention that." Elena whispered while clinging onto Stefan for support.

"It's alright, she probably didn't know in the first place." Stefan said while holding Elena close to him.

"Well this is sweet and everything, but we really should be getting back to Elena's, in case you forgot there is a potential menus in Elena's house." I snapped at the couple.

"Oh no, Jenna is home!" Elena squeaked, with that said the three of us were off, running towards Elena's house.

"Alright before we go in I should warn you, this girl is strong, strangely strong. However we have the element of surprise on our side, so if we're quiet we might be able to snatch her and leave before she even notices."

"I don't understands this girl seemed harmless when I met her, she didn't even attack me or Jenna." Elena said sadly.

"She probably wants something, come on we will have time to question her back at our place." With that said Elena opened the door and the three of us made our way silently up the stairs and into Elena's room.

"She's not in bed?" Elena said confused.

"There she is!" I whispered while pointing over to the window sill where a small frame was asleep.

"Why is she over there and not in bed?" Elena asked confused.

"Don't know don't care, let's just grab her and go." I growled while turning to the other two.

"Grab who?" Someone said from right behind me. I turned around only to come face to face with the girl.

"Nothing you need to worry about kid, go back to sleep everything will be fine." I whispered to the girl while Elena snuck out of the room, where was she going?

"Yeah I don't think so, no offence but you already tried to attack me once today and I really don't want to deal with you again." With that said the girl speeded out of the room with me and Stefan on her tail, we were inches from the door when the girl crumbled to the ground. I approached the still form a little wary when I realized there was a small dart in her neck.

"It's a vervain dart, should keep her down for a bit while we move her." I looked behind me to see Alaric and Elena standing there.

"Thanks Alaric we'll be going now." I said while picking up the girl and throwing her over my shoulder, she was really light.

"Not so fast, I want to come too, I will not allow this thing to hurt people I care about." Alaric stated.

"But she hasn't hurt anyone!" Elena practically screamed while stomping her foot like a five year old.
