Chapter 16 a haunting past

Elena POV 

I sat against the doorway twirling the dagger in hand. I needed Elijah to wake up and fast before someone found me and shoved the dagger right back in his heart. Suddenly as if someone was listening to my thoughts, Elijah gasped and twitched. Quickly I scurried to his side and held him still.  

"Shh it's ok, your ok." I cooed while holding him still. 

"Katarina?" He breathed as he seemed to drift off into a memory. 

"No, stay with me!" I complained while shaking him slightly. 

"Elijah!" I hissed. Without warning he shout out of my grip and to his feet,  

"I can't breathe, why can't I breathe?" He complained. 

"It's going to be ok you're ok." Quickly he charged the wall and headed out the door.  

"I can't be here!" He yelled. 

"You haven't been invited in." I sighed as the realization set in. As I was caught up in my thoughts, Elijah disappeared and I ran after him. 

I found him sitting outside the house, looking at me with anger. 

"What happ-"  

"Sh," I hushed him while pointing upwards. 

"I'll tell you but not here, can I trust you?" I whispered softly. 

"Can I trust you?" He hissed. Slowly but surly I brought the dagger forward and handed it to him as he snatched it from my hands. This was certainly going to be an interesting day.

Stefan POV  

Gasping I shot up in bed and looked to my right, Elena was gone. Annoyed I got up from the bed and went screaming through the hallways. 

"Elena, Elena?" Quickly I rounded a corner and ran into Damon. 

"Hey Damon have you seen Elena?" I asked concerned. 

"No Stefan I haven't, why would I, I can't even handle looking after my own girlfriend." He growled at me. 

"Damon we will find her, I'm sure she is fine." I said while running a hand through my hair. 

"Oh yeah she's fine. Just in the clutches of the man who has already tried to kill her once before, very calming Stefan!" He snapped at me. 

"Well I can't find Elena either ok!" I growled while looking around the hallway, suddenly I realized the cellar door was opened, confused I ran downstairs and saw the empty room, Elijah was gone!

Emily POV 

My head was pounding, I felt like I had been ran over by a bus ten times over.  

"I'll be back soon."  

"Please hurry I'm anxious to get back in my body." A familiar voice whispered but I was too dizzy to figure out who. 

"Where is he going?" A female voice whispered as I blinked a couple of times trying to focus on anything. 

"To retrieve me, so I can ditch this bad hair cut" the male voice chuckled. 

"Are you sure that's a good idea, Klaus?" Suddenly my senses were on high alert, this was not happening! 

"Well the full moon is almost upon is and I have everything I need, I'm ready to break this curse." Klaus chuckled. Groaning I rolled my head back to take in my surroundings. I was in an apartment that was a given, it seemed spacious enough and I was tied to a chair.
