"I'll just wait here for your petty princesses to show up in their gowns and heels," I laughed. "Actually, I'm gonna wait over there," I pointed with my thumb to the school. I headed inside, talking to Nori. "Have they even left yet?"

"They just received the alert. I can see them through that tech thing, Johnny or whatever's eyes."

"JARVIS,"

"Yeah, whatever. Jo is waiting a few blocks away."

I searched the classrooms. Teens and adults lay lifeless on the ground, some of them breathing but eyes closed, puddles beneath them. No time to waste there, I looked through the next classroom.

———

"Bela!" I heard Steve yell. An old man on drugs yelling my name. Sounds a bit creepy, yeah?

He rounded the corner, freezing when he saw me. "She's in here." Everyone else was searching different rooms; Banner had remained at the tower to not destroy more of the school, but Jo got to him. How she killed Hulk to, I'll have to ask another time. Nori gave zero description.

I held a knife to a going girls throat, around thirteen years old. She could hold herself up, and made the smart choice of not bothering to fight me. I'd shot her in the torso, and she wouldn't last anyway. If anything, I'm doing her a favor.

"Let the girl go," he encouraged, his shield covering one arm, the other hand held out like I was a wild animal and he was calmly approaching to pet me.

I stiffened, holding the edge of the silver blade against her neck. Any little move and she'd bleed to death. Can't have that yet.

He looked at the girl, who stood still, trying to hold in her sobs. I couldn't see her, but I could hear her sniffles and attempts to stay calm. "What's your name, kid?"

"Annie," she cried, her head forcing backwards into my chest as her throat bobbed forward, shoving into the knife. Dumb move, kid.

"Alright, Annie, you're gonna be okay, sound good?"

She didn't move or make a sound. Maybe she's got a bit of brains in her.

"Yeah, because you're gonna save her, right? Tell me, Rogers, how exactly do you plan on doing that?"

Stark came around, followed by the witch, with her hands surrounded in a satisfying red Galaxy - minus the stars.

"Maybe I kill her now," I shifted quickly, everyone jumping, including Annie. "I'll slit her throat, you can't save her. You're humans, not gods." I looked between each of them.

Wanda brought her hands up, shooting a red ball at me. I dodged it with the tilt of my head. "I move any more, she won't live." Starks helmet opened, revealing his face with his awkward goatee shaped like the X on a barn door.

When Peter swung in, I stiffened. He hung from the ceiling on all fours, watching me. Now isn't the best time to apologize, Bela! If that even is your name. Freak.

The suits eyes changed to a glowing red. Instant kill mode. He removed his hands from the ceiling, whispering something in Starks ear. I couldn't hear a word he said, but Stark, Rogers, and Wanda all left the room, keeping their eyes on me until they couldn't anymore.

"You're not too bright sometimes," I said, watching the door, confused. Peter clambered to the ground, holding his hands out. The red eyes retreated.

"Please don't hurt her. She hasn't done anything!"

I looked down at Annie. "Had to have done something. She's human, isn't she? No ones perfect. Go on, Annie, say some bad things you've done." She didn't answer. "Say it!"
