Five figures gathered under the light of the star, each with a sense of hollowness inside, too conscious of themselves, every movement they made.

One had spikes on his back.

Another had overlarge ears.

The third with eyesight too powerful for himself.

Then one with wings.

The last had horns sticking out from the top of his head.

Each feeling incomplete, insufficient, unless they were with each other.

Because they trusted each other.

Because they loved each other.

"Let's meet again here, even if we leave."

The five separated, going on their own path back home, waving goodbye to the other four.

The star flickered out, then died, pouring out smoke and plunging the world into darkness and misery.

The creatures of the night came out, under the cover of the descending uncertainty. A skeletal witch flew over the meeting point of the five friends. A large owl landed on a branch over one of the paths, its orange eyes glowing like headlamps in the sea of darkness around.

As time passed, the boys broke apart and fell asleep. My heart dances at the memory of how everything used to be.

Then the sky lost its light and the loved ones lost their dreams.

And years have passed.
