Chapter Eight

I toss the blue jeans over my shoulder and grab a black one.

Perfect...my subconscious tells me.

It's not like I'm going on a date, I don't even know why I am putting in an effort. But the fact that we are going to hangout after a long time is enough to excite me even if it's just for the sake of the upcoming exams.

I throw a black hoodie over my body and grab my bag with all the study materials on the way out.

Iris was already waiting. I smile and walk to the car.

Don't look too excited..reminds my subconscious. Yeah I know dumbass, I shake my head.

"Hey, ready?"

"Yup." I say as we drive to our favourite café. Hopefully I get my work done so I don't have to worry at home. Hopefully

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, maybe I should just stop hoping for stuffs.

I curse under my breath as I see four boys sitting across from our table. Them being none other than Adrien and his friends.

Did Iris plan this out?

I shake the thought away as I trust her that she wouldn't, not after she promised. As if to confirm my doubts, Iris speaks up.

"I swear, I didn't know. I'm sorry. If you want, we can go somewhere else?"

I think about it for a while, my eyes trained on them. Maybe I'm being too immature. Iris has been constantly apologising to me for every little thing and I hate it. It's all because of me being selfish and not taking her feelings into consideration. I need to grow up and face all of this anyway.

It isn't a big deal. I tell myself. It's all in the past and we were merely kids. I can't be immature and make Iris feel guilty whenever Adrien crosses paths with me and I have a gut feeling that it's going to be often. It's not even her fault. Plus Adrien has been trying his best to show me that he's actually sorry.

"Aly? You okay?" Her voice distracts me from my thoughts and I make up my mind.

"Why don't we invite them over to our table?  From the looks of it, it seems like they are studying for the test too. Maybe we can do it as a group?"

If anything was to be considered shocking at that moment, It was Iris' facial expressions. Her eyes wide and lips parted as if she couldn't really comprehend what I said. So I repeat it for her, a smile forming on my lips at her horrified face.

"What do you think? You should go ask because I'm too lazy to move my ass right now."

She clears off the expression on her face and rises up from her seat, afraid I might change my mind, she nods and rushes off to their table. Whispering something in Adrien's ear, to which he nods and looks back at me. I turn my gaze away.

Adrien then turns back to his friends and after a series of nods, they pack up their textbooks and move to our table.

"Oh, it's like a dream come true." A boy with blond hair and black eyes speaks up. I turn to look at him, trying to understand what he meant, he quickly speaks up again.

"Not for me though! By the way, I'm Max. I'm sure you knew my name already." He shows his dimpled smile and looks at me intently.

I feel sorry for telling Max this but I can't lie, right?

"I actually didn't and I am Alisson." His smile turns into a pout as if he was upset that I didn't know his name so I add something else.

"But on the bright side, I know it now, Max." I smile.

His dimples appear back in no time.

Wow, this guy really knows how to shift his mood.

"You are going to scare her with your face up so close." A light brown haired boy, tells Max.

"Hey! I am the prettiest here okay?"

I giggle at his cuteness.

"Prettiest? Really?" The boy beside him speaks up.

Can't they just tell me their names so I can stop calling them Adrien's friends or another brown haired boy? Not me trying to make friends right now. At least Max introduced himself.

As if they heard my thoughts out clear. The boy who teased Max first, decides to introduce.

"I'm Dave and this asshole is Justin."

"I'm sorry but the only asshole here, is you!"

Justin says Dave, pushing him lightly on the shoulder.

Apart from their hair colour, nothing seemed to look similar. Dave had brown eyes and a soft jawline while Justin had blue eyes and a sharp jawline.

I enjoy the friendly quarrel they immerse themselves in. Turning around, I find Iris gone to buy our drinks along with Adrien.

They return a few minutes later with four caffeinated drinks and three fruit juices.

Seven drinks?

I instinctively look at the chair being pulled beside mine as a lean figure takes the seat.

My breath hitches in my throat as I turn to face him at the wrong time. Our face inches away from each other, both staring, until his face breaks into a smile.

Contagious.

"Hi. I'm Xavi."

So Yeah, Xavi is the new character as I decided to change the plot for this story a little. Hope you enjoyed!
