Chapter 10: duel and?

Muichirou tried to stand up straight but his eyes widened with shock , the dark sillhouette that was appearing from the clouds of mist, it's glowing yellow eyes looking into his eyes, muichirou knew who he is

The young man stiffened up as the uppermoon looked behind who was there "ah i know this aura, you're a hashira right?" He asked with a monotonic tone

'ah... I should've trusted y/n's instincts...if only i had come with her' Muichirou thought while calming himself down, he inhaled and exhaled before replying. "Where is Y/N?"

The uppermoons eyes perked up as finding out your name and hearing it was music to his ears. "Oh so that's the little girl's name, she was really a pain in ass with her acting tough attitude when she's gonna die either way in the end"

"Where is she?, You didn't answer my question." He ordered, The uppermoon just released an annoyed sigh, in the speed of light, muichirou released his breathing to try and cut the demon immediately. That obviously didn't worked

With the uppermoon also at the limit of it's patience, it released a huge shockwave that manage to bend everything in the room, even the entrance and exit of the vent which means.....being trapped.

With the vent became into an contorted place which there is no room or space, the vent is made of pure iron, you knew there is no escape but you had a hunch that there is something bad happening out there, you have to take some action.

Releasing breaths are very tiring, repeatedly trying to make some hit on the uppermoon is using up Muichirou's stamina, it's the opposite on The uppermoon though, he was grinning enjoying the thrill of battle and how muichirou is running out of breath. it was futile

He at least have to come up with some sort of plan, but the uppermoon was just looking smug asking for muichirou to come up at him

Mist breathing: second form! Eight layered mist!

He immediately unleashed multiple slashes on top of it each other in quick succession, the uppermoons head was cutted off, but something's wrong....

The body and head isn't disintegrating and the blood stopped flowing, 'huh?' muichirou was confused what just happened, but then the uppermoon grew another head in a blink of an eye and crushed the head that was cut by his feet, he laughs maniacally while licking his own blood

"That was a goddamn cool and quick technique! Look at your pitiful face, how come am i still alive after cutting it?, Well it's simple, upper ranks don't die easily you know! Hah!, Such ignorant brat, I'll stop playing now and get this fight to end. it's getting tedious."

the uppermoon got close to muichirou rapidly and managed to land a scar on his face 'what was that speed?-' he thought 'no i'm just reacting slow, pull yourself together and save y/n!'

"UGGHHHHH!" you screamed, you have been trying to at least open up and entrance to escape but it all was blocked off "WHAT KIND OF VENT IS THIS?!" feeling frustrated you punched the sides with all your might that was enough to make some hole "huh?" you pulled your hand out and to your surprise,water is now filling up your tiny space, great your gonna drown now but.... how did you break that, that could only mean one thing, theres some sort of entrance to somewhere. Hoping it would lead you somewhere, you completely destroyed and swim through it.

The sound of metals clashing and heavy panting was to be heard all over the place, But then the two stopped when they heard some kind of water running, then at the side of the wall, punching sounds was to be heard as the wall broke making loads of water surge out and that also brings out Y/N

"Y/N!" Muichirou screamed "Thanked god you're alive!" Y/N was coughing and trying to catch her breath "I-I'm fine!" The uppermoon didn't gave them time to rest as it launched an attack behind muichirou, "Dance breathing: First form!, Twist and turns!" You then go in front of muichirou,twisted your body then slashed the uppermoons arm, but then he regenerated immediately again

Muichirou then grabbed your arm to avoid being cornered at the uppermoon, this situation is bad, you and muichirou managed to survive by dodging and countering it with breathing forms, you at least have to fool the uppermoon or.....fool it to go up so they can burn in the sun, last time you remembered it was midnight, then that means it's gonna turn dawn soon

"Muichirou how about we combine our attacks together!?" You yelled "we can try but we need a way so his regeneration would slow down!" Right, this is uppermoon 4, if you are already struggling with this kind of demon what about the other stronger ones?, Why are you both struggling?, No, it's you. You're the reason, you're being weak, if muichirou focuses then he could've probably ended that demon in an instant, he is too busy worrying about you to fully concentrate, you remembered the poison shinobu gave you

'y/n...i don't know if you're gonna face an uppermoon but here, if you ever get yourself in a sticky situation, this poison should be able to at least weaken them a bit, but remember, if it's an uppermoon it's not guaranteed to fully rely on that, once it looks like it taken effect, immediately cut its head off'

'yes, thank you shinobu-san, i think I'll use this now' you thought, the uppermoon stopped, but then it gave a grin.

Blood demon art: Spike of death!

The uppermoon released spikes on his body and make them flew everywhere, constantly hitting you and muichirou, you just fought the pain and rushed to the uppermoon immediately throwing the poison in order to weaken him, but because you got closer, he caught you

"Y/N!!!!!!" Muichirou yelled, blood was dropping from your mouth as your shocked expression stayed still, Muichirou was greatly devasted but he decided to take this chance while your body was stucked at the uppermoon "Mist breathing fourth form! Shifting flow slash!" He quickly unsheathes his sword and dashed towards the uppermoon at blinding speed "blood demon art: Shockwave!" The uppermoon uses another shockwave "Agh!.." You faintly screamed

Muichirou teared up also trying to hide the pain he felt while the uppermoon released the shockwave "Mist breathing fifth form: sea of clouds and haze!" The uppermoon tried to block it but you stopped him by stabbing him with your katana with yourself by also releasing a breathing form "Dance breathing....sixth form.... thrust...po..."you said at the very last inch of your breath, Muichirou successfully cutted the uppermoons head and this time, it disintegrated, Muichirou knew that the last time he tried to cut the uppermoons head, it already has cutted itself that's why it was able to regenerate

Winning the battle also sacrifices a great cost, you were all fatally injured but you we're still trying to fight for your life, muichirou ran after you and cried "Y/N NO! PLEASE, FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE! YOU CAN'T DIE YET, ILL IMMEDIATELY CARRY YOU TO A NEARBY DOCTOR JUST HOLD ON!" Muichirou carried you "Muichirou.....let go..... it's not..." you coughed out blood "worth it.... this... is... the...end.."

Muichirou didn't listen as he just hurried up to the village "SOMEONE! HELP!" Everyone heard muichirou and all panicked, they helped him bring Y/N to the doctor but.....
