Chapter 9: kidnapped

You awoke from your so called deep slumber, as the demon in front of you visibly smiled, even though he was blocking the only light source you can see.

You gulped in fear as well trying hard to not scream, you are shaking intensely not bothering to stop yourself. You know who was right in front of you.

His glowing gold eyes with numbers indicating that he is uppermoon 4.
Sinister smile looking at you sharply and studying your expression and movements, your fear, was his entertainment. He enjoyed watching you tremble, in fact he already expected you to fear him. What a pity he thought, a hashira like you and so young out in a mission to hunt down a demon that definitely is way out your reach. His smile widened as he stops himself from laughing

"The demon slayer corps really did messed up huh?," He remarked, that was enough to make you stiffen up as a cold sweat goes down in front of your face "didn't know they just accepted timid demon slayers to become a hashira easily." He laughed psychotically as you stare at him blankly.

Of course he was talking about you, insulting you indirectly in front of you and its obvious you didn't like that
"Imagine! Goodness! They really are that desperate to kill and hunt us down!, Ha. Their efforts are pointless" he grabbed your chin harshly pulling you closer to him, you hissed in pain as you plan to bite him out of spite, but then again, what could a little girl's bite do to an uppermoon

"Their adopting strays now in their cor-" before he could finish speaking you cut him off by kicking him hardly in his chest, you know that won't do anything but that is enough to push him away from you. You we're pissed off his attitude like he knows all about you. Heck you we're fuming in anger, you weren't scared anymore as this demon was all talk all this time

"What do you want." You shouted in a demanding way. You weren't asking him at this state, you were demanding an immediate answer coming from his mouth "I don't get you. Of course what else?, To kill you of course"

You glared at him knowing he is hiding something "if that's your only intention, you would've killed me in my weak and asleep state earlier because that is your advantage. But here you are standing before me, wasting your time in waiting for me to wake up, insulting me pointless words, and not even a single move of killing intent. You are hiding something. Spit it out."

He was obviously shocked from what he heard, but it was ridiculous that he was being demanded by a weak little girl who isn't even higher status than him in his eyes

"You have guts you trash. You're talking to an uppermoon and you-"

"And you're talking to an hashira." You cutted him off that makes him more annoyed

"As i continue from your disturbance. You aren't even higher rank than me, what's more to strength?" His tone was rude but still kept smiling

"And you're a weirdo who can't kill a so called "weak target" easily and chose to have a little chat than ending their life immediately" You added with a smirk plasted on your face

"You're wishing for a death wish." He threathens but you replied "oh what if i do?, Are you finally making your move?"

He was furious. Never in his life has he experienced being talked back rudely, moreover, a youngster like you "Are you asking it? Really?" He questioned, you wanna mess with him to stall enough time while inspecting an escape route secretly "oh yes dear genie, i am wishing for my death wish right here and now. Will you kill me now?" You remarked

Without any second to think he choked you hardly and raised you where you stand in completely thin air, you gasped for air as it was getting hard to breathe; trying to loosen his grip with all your might then to your shock, he let you go

"Have you ate up your words yet?" He asked but you were sitting there dumbfounded as you try to calm yourself. But, why did he let you go?

Meanwhile the sun shined brightly through the curtains of the room where you left muichirou slept in, He was tightly hugging the pillow imagining it was you, when he opened his eyes, he was immediately in distraught

His lovely Y/N whom he dreamt of last night wasn't beside his bed, he got up to open up the curtains and realized he woke up very late, everyone was once packed up outside, He rushed fixed himself in search of Y/N but everywhere he looked in the house you were no where to be seen.

He has this unpleasant feeling swirling in his stomach that when you were doing patrol, something bad happened to you. But he has big hopes that wasn't the case, so in case of jumping into conclusions, he ran off to the places he know you would go there

People gave him the eyes of piercing judgement that he was wearing completely out of place with a katana, but that wasn't important to him, he had to find you, he have to be sure you're safe and sound, but....there was no hope. You aren't seen anywhere

As he was worried sick, tears falling down from his eyes and falling to his knees. He was about to give up and call the corps about you missing but there is one place he remembered Y/N told him about

(The afternoon he last saw you)

You were in your apartment talking to muichirou about a place you heard rumours of

"Hey muichirou i... I wanna investigate a place as well"

Muichirou was confused so he nodded in respond for you to continue

"I know i promised I'm only patrolling the nearby places are around us but if i ignore even one area, everything could go wrong" You said with a worried tone "but you could come after me though"

You reassured him patting him on the shoulder "Its the very abandoned part of this village, barely any people goes there since it was called haunted because it was nearby a cemetery, there is also this "haunted part" where people goes for the sake of curiosity and ended up missing, i won't go there though, we'll investigate it together okay?"

That's right, you promised to come back and investigate it with him, you wouldn't break your promise or go missing without a lead, even he hates to admit it, he knows something bad happened to you. So there goes his journey following your directed path of where will you go

But then efforts lead to disappointment

You were no where to be found once again, but a chill went down on his spine realizing a thick smoke fog was surrounding the area. It turned dark as he went deeper, hands on the hilt of his sword ready to withdraw in case if anything happens

A crack was heard behind him as he swiftly turned around to see...nothing, he was sure he heard something and was not getting delusional. Perhaps it was just his footsteps he was hearing?

It was not helping his case worried to where your whereabouts. He composed himself and let out a heavy breathy sigh as he acted calm and didn't waste any second exploring the area

The uppermoon left you alone but his only mistake was leave the door open, you could easily go there and declare freedom but no stupid person would leave the door open to their victim without planning something, and you aren't that oblivious.

After being let go by the uppermoon, you noticed a vent by the top right side of the room, as you carefully placed the metal door it didn't help that it created loud echoes around the room, but you didn't waste any time and go in.

There was the only thing you made a mistake though.

As the uppermoon returned, the cheeky grin on his face was immediately replaced as he saw his victim no where in sight, the mistake you did calm him down as he knows where the end if the vent went to. Of course, he waited at the end.

Muichirou found a hidden entrance, it looked like a long fall but he jumped in fearless

Sliding down the tube created rough sounds as muichirou braced the fall and stood up to where his surprise, he found the uppermoon.
