Chapter 7: Memories

You and muichirou arrived at his estate,it is full of greenery and the air is fresh, you exhale in the peaceful atmosphere as you stepped in inside after he flicked on the lights and gave you a pair of kimono to replace that outfit of yours....oops,

it seems you forgot to change and wore the outfit throughout the night, now that is why you were still feeling cold even if you covered your upperbody with muichirou's yukata

After you took the kimono and changed, you sat down in the living room still wearing his yukata as you gripped it tightly before getting it off and giving it to muichirou

"hey muichirou, here's your yukata" you said while giving him his yukata "you don't want to wear it anymore?" He said curiously, you blushed as you took it the wrong way you shook your head scolding yourself for your wild imaginations getting ahead of you again

"i-its not like that I don't wanna wear it, it's yours! And you just gave it to me for me to cover myself, so I'm giving it back to you!" You said while shoving his yukata to him, he just chuckled and took it

"by the way the outfit you wore earlier are already folded and carefully placed over there, you could take it in the morning to return it to your group", "why did you fold it?" You said curiously "why is it not allowed?" He replied "it's not like that, I mean you could've just left it there and I'm the one who would fix it later" you said but knowing yourself you would probably forgot and not do it so you were a little thankful "you said it's from your friends and it seems that they are important to you so I also cherished it and handled it with care" he said while giving a faint smile, you just smiled and patted his head a small tint of blush appeared on his face

Later on you both decided to sleep and turned off the lights and share the same
Futon since you both are "couples" now so you wouldn't have to be awkward....right?

He embraced you gently as your back is now pressed against his chest as he sleeps comfortably by your side, you couldn't help but get a little flashback at the first interaction you both had and it just went exactly like this, it's kind of nostalgic for you remembering that "ah...just like good old days..." You murmured beneath your breath

After hours of trying to sleep you couldn't help but keep your eyes open and even if you tried anything to make you fall asleep, you still can't, you know there is something bothering you so you carefully got out of muichirou's grip and just sit outside his veranda or porch and think of the things bothering you, just then you remembered your past and asked yourself how did your life even come into here?

A few years ago when Y/N was a child

Her family owns the part of the festival where the performances are held always, since the entire bloodline of L/N is full of skilled dancers passed down from their ancestors, they are also skilled demon slayers, but rather...Y/N's family is strict and cares about their tradition much much more than their lives....everyone must be a dancer and even just one person must continue the dance breathing style and become a demon slayer to continue on for the future, of course Y/N being the eldest among her siblings, she is forced to be a demon slayer and train hard everyday, everytime, she hated that idea....Y/N is however different from her family....she just wanted to live a normal happy life without any worries in the world, for her the dancing, demon slaying tradition passed down is just pure stupid, and can be broken anytime, she doesn't have talents of dancing nor demon slaying, and she just learned that along the why but of course....by force....

As she was strictly trained by her father that will hit her with a big chunk of wood if she fails a move or a strike even by just a little.....her dad was a perfectionist and also her mother too....if Y/N didn't meet her father's expectations in training then there will no be food for her to eat for the rest of day, and that makes Y/N to what she is now.....she must meet everyone's expectations of her....she needs to be perfect....or rather.....she felt the need to be perfect...she didn't want to....but growing up in a strict household made her one....the pain in her heart is just endless.....one day her family got eaten by a demon and she was just part of the demon slaying corps so far the second lowest rank.....she stood there frozen don't know what to act....she didn't know if she would be happy or sad....indeed she was abused by them but she didn't also want this to happen neither....they are the reason she is living right now...the ones who gave her life.....so even out of all the things that happened....she still cares for them....

Holding out the tears that are threatening to come down, she immediately slashed the demons neck and it immediately disintegrate, she just stared at her family's dead body as tears slowly poured down from her eye....the performers of the festival heard about what happened so they took her in and made her a part of her family, and of course that is her best friend's parents....

As you were remembering your past a unknown arms hugged around you as you tilted your head to find out that it's muichirou looking at you with half lidded eyes signalling he is still sleepy but he is concerned that you got out from his grasp, you can't help but smile as he sitted next to you, he still is wobbly and trying to make himself awake but he just ended up falling asleep on your lap, you chuckle at how cute he is so you just let him be

In the morning after you put muichirou onto bed last night you woke up without him by your side, then you smell something in the kitchen; a wonderful delicious scent of food, as you fix yourself you eagerly ran to the kitchen and sit down the table "oh goodmorning Y/N!" You heard the mint-green eyed man greeted you with a smile as he quickly focuses onto what he is cooking, soon enough the dish was done and he set up the plates and you both started eating, you drool at the sight and immediately dug in the food and stuff it in your mouth, muichirou just chuckles because of your child-like behaviour

Later on you quickly go to your house to change to your demon slayer uniform, you forgot to bring the outfit you wore at the event at muichirou's house so you ended up running to his estate once again,"Hey Y/N, wait for me we will go together to your friends to return that outfit and go to Oyakata-Sama after"
You nodded in agreement and go with muichirou

After that you arrived at the Ubayashiki estate and it seems that you two are the only left to be waited before the meeting starts, they all have that "ooh-la-la" looks except for giyuu and sanemi and mostly mitsuri, you shoot her a glare as she chuckles, Ubayashiki clears his throat before asking

"My children,I gathered you all today for a very important announcement,but first let us celebrate the two of our youngest hashiras being together, Muichirou...Y/N congratulations for your relationship, it will be difficult for both of you but we know you will surpass the problems,just remember me and the hashiras will always support you and help you all the time"

you and muichirou said thank you as you you can't help smile about it "but the real purpose about this meeting is because we spotted an uppermoon..."

All of you were shocked as others were obviously were fuming in anger and determination

"the uppermoon is to be said near the Kyōko village, it seems it blends in well and of course, kill people in the night but it leaves no traces, and again, we have to set one of you in a group with demon slayer or investigate it yourself....how about you Y/N and muichirou? Do you want to take over this mission?"

Oyakata-Sama said you and muichirou just nodded since it's your responsibility and you have no choice, after the meeting both of you now prepared yourselves as you are taking on a big mission....
