Ch 2 - I really like you

The next morning Kendal woke up to find the girls weren't back. They must of been still at Scott's. "Good for them" she thought.

She checked her phone and noticed she had gotten a text from Luke, it said 'Hey u wana hang out today, I'll pick u up at 1 xx:)' she smiled more than she should of.

She went downstairs, made herself some toast and ate it infront of the tv. Once she was finished she ran upstairs and got ready.

She put on a white crop top, denim shorts and a pair of flip flops. She curled her hair and did her makeup.

She grabbed her phone and purse then went back downstairs, checked everything was good then left the house.

Outside was Luke sitting on the hood of his car waiting for her. He was wearing a black tank top that said you complete mess on it, black skinny jeans, his black converse and his hair was quiffed like it was last night. This kid never seemed to fail to impress.

She walked over to him and he brought her in for a tight, warm hug. A guy had never hugged her like this before, she was lucky if she even got a side hug or a hug from behind. She liked this type of hug.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked once they were in the car.

"I thought we could go down to the beach, I brought my guitar so maybe you could help me write some music..." he trailed off.

"I'd love to" she smiled and rested her hand on his, he tightened his grip and they drove to the beach.

Once they arrived, Luke set out a blanket for them to sit on. He was so considerate.

They sat down on the blanket and Luke started playing his guitar, Kendal started to hum along to the familar tune.

Luke stopped playing, and laughed at Kendal humming along. She went bright red and burried her face in her hands.

Luke scooted next to her and grabbed her hand tightly. They just sat and stared at the sea. She liked doing this, just holding his hand, just sitting and not saying anything, it really took the preasure off.

Luke broke the silence 10 minutes later, "Kendal? I really like you, like really like you and not just as a friend, you're so amazing and it feels like I've known you forever, you know what I mean?" he said quietly.

"I know exactly what you mean" she smiled up at him.

"Do you maybe want to go out?" he started swirling patterns in the sand.

Kendal nodded and kissed his cheek, he did the same but kissed her lips softly.

Luke was now her boyfriend and she couldn't be happier.

She couldn't help but think how different things would be if she had stayed at the party, she would probably be lying with her head in a toilet somewhere and she was glad that she wasn't.

"What do you mean this guy is your boyfriend? already? Kendal?" Amber practically shouted at her 3 hours later.

"Oh I don't know, he seems to actually care about me, and the conversations we have are amazing and endless" she sighed, replaying every last moment they shared together in her head.

"Oh, Kendal, if he makes you happy then I can't stop you, but if this guy hurts you like Scott did, I will find him and kill him" Amber warned and walked out of the kitchen.

Kendal had not time to worry about Scott. She had to worry about getting ready to go back out with Luke which was in the next two hours. He was taking her back to the carnival.

She ran up the stairs and changed into a maxi dress and put on her wedges, as what she was wearing was covered in sand. She re-did her makeup and went back downstairs.

It was now 8pm and Luke picked Kendal up to go back to the carnival. She got in the car and kissed his cheek. He grabbed her hand like he always did and they drove off.

Once they arrived at the carnival they got their rist bands and went in.

They went up to a stall and Luke won Kendal a big pink teddy bear, she wouldn't stop hugging him and thanking him.

Luke knew a guy had never treated her like this before, he knew a guy never treated her the right way. So he was taking extra care with her and was going to treat her like a princess.

The light of the moon and stars made everything perfect, the rides, the music, the food and the prizes were just a bonus, she was so happy, the happiest she had ever been and Luke loved seeing her like this, dancing around and grinning like a little kid.

They stumbled out of the carnival a few hours later with prizes and food in their arms.

They were stood under a street lamp, red faced and grinning like mad. Luke brought Kendal into his arms and hugged her tightly, she loved his hugs, they were so warm and cuddly.

He cupped her cheek and kissed her like she had always wanted to be kissed. They were both smiling and she giggled in between kisses.

They got into the car and drove off, Luke holding her hand like he always did.

They pulled into a gas station so Luke could fill the tank up. Once Luke was out of the car, Kendal sunk into her seat and closed her eyes, today had been so amazing that it tired her right out.

Luke climbed back into the car and noticed she was asleep, he kissed her cheek and drove out of the gas station and down the free way.

Luke was getting pretty tired himself, so he checked them into a hotel. He carried Kendal up to their room, took her shoes off for her and tucked her into the bed. He climbed in beside her and fell asleep as soon as he hit the pillow.
