Ch 6 - Banding

Today, it was a sunny day. So they decided to go on a road trip.

Ashton was driving because he was the oldest. Michael sat in the passenger seat and Kendal sat between Calum and Luke in the backseat.

They had been driving for a while, listening to music, laughing and carrying on because yolo. The boy's song She looks so perfect came on the radio, they all cheered and sang along including Kendal.

They stopped at a fast food place and ordered some food then continued driving.

A couple of hours had passed so they decided to go back to the apartment. They made pizza and ate it infront of the tv.

Luke's phone rang, it must of been pretty important because he took it outside.

He came back 5 minutes later looking quite pissed. "That was management, we've to get bags packed and leave for New York, we're doing a last minute show and signing, we'll be there for a week" he repeated what their manager had just said.

Everyone got up off the couch, looking pretty pissed, epecially Calum.

Luke walked over to Kendal who was fighting back tears. He grabbed her waist and pulled her into a hug. She cried onto his chest, he tried to soothe her by playing with her hair and rubbing her back. It just made her cry even more because it would be the last time he did this for a while.

An hour later the boys were packed up and back in the car. The atmosphere wasn't the same, it was plain gloomy. Kendal was cuddled into Luke who was playing with her hair while she cried.

The boys dropped Kendal off at her parents as they didn't want her to be alone while she was this upset.

Luke got out the car with her and brought her into one last hug while she cried for the 100th time in the last two hours.

"I have to go now" Luke said fighting back tears. Kendal looked up at him, her eyes red from crying.

He kissed her one last time, it wasn't full of passion, it was full of sadness and tears.

"I'll text you as soon as we land" Luke said while climbing into the car still fighting back tears.

"Buy guys" she whispered, tears streaming down her face as the boys drove away, just then she could see tears streaming down Luke's face, even the other boys had to fight back tears too.

Florence came out of the house, dressed in her pajamas as it was 11 at night. She brought Kendal into her arms and took her into the house.

"Tell me everything" Florence said while rubbing Kendal's back.

"They..." she bubbled up. "They're going to New York to do a last minute show and signing, they're gone for a week" she cried heavily.

Her mom made her hot chocolate and ordered her to go up the stairs and get some sleep.

She lay awake that night thinking about how just a few hours they were all laughing and having a great time and in just a matter of hours, they'd be miles away from her.

This was going to be the longest week ever.
