keana yawned as she put her phone down. she had a lot to do today and she wondered how tired she'd be at the end of this. she had barely slept and now she was getting ready for the day which she knew would be filled with trying to find caterers, a dj, and everything else that would go into this surprise party she was planning. despite it being a saturday, she had called her connections ahead of time and asked that they avail themselves for today so that she would be able to discuss what she needed with them.
she walked to her bathroom and turned on the shower, hot water first and letting it run for awhile. she thought about what she needed to be accomplished for the day, quickly going over her schedule in her head and wondering where she could squeeze her appointments and her time to go and organize everything she needed for the surprise party.
when keana finally made it to the office, she took out her file where she kept all the good companies that she used for high-end clients. all her companies were good but these specific ones knew how to deal with clients like aubrey. she spent the entire morning making phone calls and ensuring that everyone she contacted was aware of their job. she had also made sure to not go over the budget although aubrey had not set a budget limit. she knew how to make sure that in her planning, she never goes over a specific limit, one limit that she always has ingrained in her mind, both for high-end clients and her average clients.
keana looked at her clock that was on the wall and noted that it was time for her to leave and get to her appointment with the manager of the venue that aubrey had picked. she grabbed her bag before heading out to her car. when she got to the venue, she met the manager outside. she was pretty, keana noted as she shook hands with the light-skinned woman. her eyes were light brown that seemed to light up and her smile made her features stand out more. "hi, i'm denise johnson. the manager of luxe. you must be keana brown, right?" keana nodded and smiled at her as she was led inside the bar/lounge. it was nicely lit and had a certain vibe that she liked. with the right colors and deco, she could envision the way it would look when she was done with the place. denise kindly led her to the bar, where they both sat down on the bar stools and denise flagged down the bartender. "this is martin, the bartender. he has a talent for making drinks and he's one of the best bartenders this place has. martin, please make miss. brown your signature drink." "coming right up." keana quirked an eyebrow as she watched the man work his magic, taking in the way he moved fluidly behind the bar, in tune with his surroundings and comfortable with what he was doing. when he was done, he slid the drink to keana, who took a sip and hummed in awe. "this is good! what is it called?" she sipped some more before putting the drink back into the counter, not wanting to finish it too quickly. the alcohol was making its way into her system pleasantly and she wished she didn't have to go back to work after she was done here because she could do with another drink that martin had made. "it doesn't really have a name. people just call it the signature drink." she nodded and watched as he moved away, busying himself with whatever else he was doing. keana turned her attention back to denise, who was watching her with mirthful eyes. "i did say he's one of the best." keana could only agree with that and took another sip of her drink. "so i talked to the owner and he's more than happy to make luxe available on the day that you need it. whatever you need done, luxe will provide and of course, the staff will sign the non-disclosure." keana nodded at that, pleased. although she knew the owner would have no issue with having his bar hosting a celebrity as big as drake, she worried for a moment that they would be booked and busy for the day. "thank you very much for that. my people should come in tomorrow to check the place out and discuss deco and the likes." denise nodded and stood up from her seat, with keana following suit. she walked keana out and smiled at her when they were outside. "it was a pleasure to meet you, miss. brown. take care." she shook keana's hand as she nodded. "thank you for meeting up with me. bye." she waved at denise as she made her way to her car and unlocked it, getting in.
she sent a message to aubrey, telling him about securing the venue, who in turn thanked her, which caused a smile to appear on her face. although this was only half of the job done, she felt like she had accomplished a huge feat. she wanted to make this event a successful one and she knew that deep down inside, she wanted aubrey to be proud of her. her train of thought caused a frown to make its way into her face, not liking the implication of her thought process before she brushed it off and making her way back to the office, determined to finish the rest on her to-do list before the end of the day.
so boom, surprise update anyone?
anyways!
