you stood in front of the mirror with keqing glued to your side , her hands on your waist. she smoothed out the fabric of your kimono.

"i did a good job , didn't i ?"

your dark blue kimono was carefully decorated with patterns of flowers and summer birds. your obi was a contrasting yellow color , its shime tied neatly and into a lovely big ribbon. the feeling of silk brushed against your s/c skin. your hair was done neatly and pinned up with a elegant hairpin , courtesy to keqing.

"thanks for helping me with this." you said. she huffed in response while playing with the hem of her own lavender kimono. "it's just something for a friend. after all , ayaka will be there and you gotta show her-"

"okay okay ! jeez."

today was the day of the school summer festival , two days before ayaka had her big volleyball game , and two days before you left to attend a business seminar that took place across the country.

you smiled. "ready to go ?"

as the two of you neared the school , there was a field of grass and trees where the festival took place. you smiled at the happy students and also the student councils hard work at making the festival look nice.

there were stands selling fresh-made takoyaki and booths that had fishing games and cute stuffed animals as prizes. the orange lights lit up the cool night.

"it really looks nice , as expected of ningguang." keqing said. you nodded.

how much did she spend for this ?

"ah ! it's y/n and keqing !"

yoimiyas cheery voice called out to you. you looked over to see kazuha , gorou , tohma , and ayaka in a small corner where takoyaki was being served.

keqing grabbed your shoulders and grinned before running off. "have fun !"

"wh- wait keqing ! ah..." you sighed and made your way to the group. "hey guys. enjoying the festival ?"

gorou nodded. "yep ! oooh , you look nice today y/n." he said. you giggled to his compliment. "thanks."

kazuha wore a red and cream white kimono with maple patterns decorating his sleeves. yoimiya wore a short red kimono with a bandage covering her chest and legs , the large red ribbon on her back giving her an even more gorgeous aura.

while tohma and gorou simply showed up in a random t shirt (gorous was inside out) and shorts.

"i just realized , you and ayaka are kinda matching colors in kimonos !" yoimiya said with a chirp. you blushed. "really ?"

ayaka smiled. her thin light blue kimono was detailed with the smallest threads and beads , her blue hair in a nice bun with a flower hairpin. she made eye contact with you before looking away and staring at her zoris.

"you two are so cute~"

"shut up yoimiya !"

after a few minutes of conversing with one another , the group head out to try the booths and have fun. you held ayaka's hand and watched her try to scoop up the goldfish in the small tub. the orange fish wiggled around , making it hard for her to pick one.

"nice one !"

in the distance , tohma and gorou cheered yoimiya on as she tried the archery game. you could see all the arrows hit the center target with ease.

"oh ! look y/n , i did it !"

ayaka smiled in satisfaction. the man took the goldfish and placed in a plastic bag , letting ayaka keep it. you felt your heart warm at how adorable she was.

"good job ayaka." you said. she nodded. "what do you want to do next ? we still have time before the fireworks start." ayaka asked. you looked around , searching for something that caught your eye. "do you want to have a small snack ? i heard the takoyaki was really nice."

the two waited for the old man to finish cooking. once it was finished , he piled them up in a small plate and skillfully topped it off with mayo and bonito flakes. you said a few words of gratitude before sitting down and offering ayaka a ball.

"careful , it's hot."

she opened her mouth and ate it in one bite while it was still in your hand. you could see her rosy cheeks puff up and her lips part to let out hot steam.

how does she not react to the heat ???

"ooooh , they're sharing food !"

you froze up and saw kaeya , his striped navy blue kimono exposing his tanned chest. beside him was albedo , jean , and lisa. you rolled your eyes.

"shut up ice age baby."

he dramatically sighed. "now , don't hurt my feelings like that. i was just saying that you two would look great as girlfriends. you two are practically having an indirect kiss right now."

ayaka lost it at that one.

she flinched and suddenly winced. "ow !"

you looked at her with worry and quickly held her chin to see where she hurt herself. "are you okay ayaka ?!"

she nodded hazily. "i just burnt my tounge a little..." ayaka said. you trickled your finger over her bangs. "be careful."

"oh , don't look qiqi ! they're doing things with love !"

ganyu covered the girls eyes with her cold hands while xiao rolled his eyes.

"don't demonize me like that !"

you huffed and fixed the sleeves of your kimono before taking ayakas hand and standing up. "the fireworks are about to start , so let's hurry and go !"

"huh ? o-okay !"
