HOW TO STICK IN FICTION GENRE

Writing seems to be easy but you know what's hard? Sticking into one genre. There will be times that as you write, you slowly fall into a different set of genre which will be confusing to the readers.

Don't get me wrong. You can have romance in an action genre but you need to emphasize the action more but you cannot claim it as romance when your whole story revolves in a fighting era.

So, for today's tip, better take some notes.

GOLDEN RULE IN FICTION
- Never infuse it with reality. It maybe an establishment, place, and or people.

Respect the fiction genre. This is made to deliver the readers into a different dimension, to a different world, where they will seek comfort from the cruel reality.

Before you begin, ask your self first. Can I keep the fiction till the end?

Because if you cannot then there's a lot of other genre that may help your struggle.

But if you are positive that you can then I am beside your path. We'll walk it down together.

Fiction is an art of creative thinking. It's a product of your imaginative ideas that's helping you to give birth to a dimensional characters who's gonna play a major role in your life and to your readers life.

But even if it was created by your mind, you still need to make it believable without putting a complete characteristics of someone from the real life.

- Create a goal for your character -

One way to make your character to be believable is to set goals and aspiration. What does it want in life? To become a lawyer? A doctor? or a boyfriend? Think it out.

(P.s. Even if it's gonna be fictional, it's okay to put a real life job in your story. Just don't describe a certain person cause they might not be comfortable and always remember consent...you don't have a permission to do that. So, instead of defining their looks, research bunch of adjectives that will help you build your very own character)

- Create impressions -

In order to achieve impressions, make sure that your character traits can be seen mostly on the chapters. Especially on the Chapter 1. If your character is a snob then make sure that it will stick most of the time except if he'll develop character development because oh uh....lovelife.

- Create writing prompts -

By doing this, you will slowly understand that the character's mannerism is important even in tiniest details. Writing prompts will help you to develop possible scenario which would likely help you grow as a writer. As you write and write prompts, you will slowly know how to plant wave of flutter in your reader's heart.

- Grow your characters -

It's 2021, everyone needs development. Fictional or not.

Also, to give full context, having a character development will surely make you grow as a writer too. It will serve as an open window to growth because your novel is a piece of you that you are sharing. What your art is, will define you.

ABOUT THE FLAWS.

Make sure that your character's flaws are sensible (Example: They are a spoiled brat because their parents aren't showing them emotional bond) Don't just create an evil character without having any sense because, honey, readers will surely cringe (even me)

Having a sensible flaws will make the readers to think that they somehow understand their behavior.

I hope this helps.
