Three Days.

"There should be more blood than this. I wonder what happened." Walking around the corpse, you stared into the victim's dull, dead, eye. One was missing, and there were tiny puncture wounds over their body in a seemingly random pattern but you knew this was not the case.

Taking pictures while waiting for the police to show up. You had stumbled upon a crime scene and called it in. Most people would have freaked out but you were much more fascinated about death than the average person. Crime shows mysterious deaths, why villains do what they do.

The inner workings of criminals, these things just appealed to you. Sure it made it hard to make friends. If you wanted to make any but that just made you value the true ones that liked you for you.

Looking closer at the body, you gasped and took a step back. That wasn't a random stranger you found but an abusive family member. Not knowing what to feel or do, Y/n shivers, glancing around. What if the killer was still here?

Hopefully, the police will be here soon. That's when you saw it, right there on the body. A note addressed to you. Written in braille.

Since you like blood, death, chaos, and mysteries. I thought I'd leave you a gift. Can you solve this murder before I get to you? I sure hope so! If not, it doesn't matter much, I'll see you in Three Days, dead or alive, we'll finally meet.

You knew this was not a joke. Taking a picture of the note prior to seeing another one. It was painted on a nearby tree, most likely with the victim's blood. Y/n had only Three Days to live and didn't want to waste that time in the woods.

Once the police got there, they sealed off the area and questioned you, a lot. Before taking you downtown to question you more, it was annoying. By the time they were done you had lost half a day. Sighing to yourself, you sat down, opened your laptop, and got to work.

Soft fingertips rubbed their owner's temples gently. There were very few clues to go off of. Which would normally excite you but not this time. After three hours of researching, you took a break. Exhaustion kicked in making you pass out.

In the wee hours of the morning, Y/n's backdoor was opened. In crept a figure, they hid while watching the s/c skin individual sleep. Reaching out, your cheek was caressed. "Just two more days then you're mine."

For the next two days, you barely slept or ate. Working hard to figure out who it was. The police had officers around your home. They promised that you'd be safe, they even moved you to a safe house on the final day.

"A missing person's report has been sent out to all surrounding areas. L/n Y/n was last seen wearing a..."

The news report was cut off mid-sentence. There was no need to check the news. Y/n was finally where they needed to be.

Opening a door, lovestruck pupils locked onto the fearful figure of L/n. As you heard footsteps coming toward you, you wanted to take a step back but couldn't, moving was impossible. Especially since your limbs were all chained down, body exposed to the elements.

"Why are you so afraid? I'm not going to kill you, even though you didn't figure things out before the time limit. You were so close! That's why you're still alive, that and I love you."

That voice made you shiver even harder than yesterday's Chinese Water Torture game. Or the day before when you were waterboarded.

They say it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for but who knew it was really the normal one.
