Your body was sinking into the icy abyss, why was this happening to you? Were you wrong for helping out all those years ago? Did you do something to deserve this lonely and cold death? As the air left your lungs, you thought about the past, your life then faded away...

"My darling looks so cute while sleeping but I wish you'd wake up already." For the last twenty-four hours, Hizashi has been by your side, watching over you. Only leaving to grab a few things that he knew humans needed to survive, like clean water. That was something he didn't understand about the land-dwellers, they needed water to live yet kept dropping their filth into his nice clean waters.

Then they complain about the water not being drinkable. On top of that, why did they even need to drink water, it was all strange to him. Placing a hand on your face, he caresses it, admiring your enticing features. Your nose, lips, eyelids, s/c skin, cheeks, neck, the way your clothes clung to your body also grabbed his attention.

A soft groan came from your s/c lips, you coughed hard and turned your head. Hizashi was glad to see that you were moving, at least a little bit. Nonetheless, he was also nervous as you, his beloved, hadn't woken up yet. Your body trembled, shivering, showing that you were cold, which the siren tried to fix by placing beach blankets over you. Too bad it was just as damp and cold as you.

"A fire would be ideal but..." His glowing eyes flickered over to the items he had seen other land-dwellers using. None of those items seemed to work when he tried to use them, not even a tiny spark, not under the water. Perhaps now, in this cavern, they would work. Fire is seen as something dangerous to his kind but if it would help his mate then Hiza would harness it.

Slithering over to grab a lighter, he shakes it a few times, turning it over in his hand before going to the pile of tree branches, wooden planks, and other random wood-based things. He checked them to see if they were dry. Most were dry while others were dry enough since they had been down in the cave for years. Shaking the lighter over and over again caused nothing to happen, frowning Hizashi soon tried the flint wheel, it sparked a bit.

Y/n's shivering increased, their coughing did too, this scared the blond. Determined to make this damn thing work, he kept trying, until that spark turned into a small flame. Holding it over a little stick, he watched as the flame slowly started to spread. Dropping it onto the bigger pile, that wasn't too close or far from you, he waits.

"I don't see the appeal of watching this...thing, why do humans do this?" The fire slowly started to spread more, eating away at the other items that it had to burn. Your savior or was he your captor? Returned to your side, guarding you, at least in his mind, from the dangerous fire.

Carefully, the blond lifted your head and gently placed it on his lap, this was something he had seen as well. In fact, the siren had seen your grandparents doing this to you, and you seemed to enjoy it. Y/n's body relaxed then, your coughing stopped as well, and your face looked calmer. "That's much better, I can understand why they do this."
