The battle raged on. Edmund and Chloe fought side by side, protecting and defending each other as they always did. Together they were a force to be reckoned with. While they were clashing weapons with the enemy, Lucy was being chased through the woods by a lone Telmarine.

A deafening roar haunted the woods, and as she rode, Lucy could see the outline of a figure running by her side. A flicker of hope glowed in her chest when a mighty lion appeared before her, roaring into the air. The sound frightened the horse, the creature reared its hind legs and Lucy fell off. For a moment, the deadly look in the beast's eyes made Lucy think it was just another wild animal, and she was about to perish.

The lion growled, jumping right over Lucy and slashing at the Telmarine- killing him. The growling had ceased, and the fierce look on the lion's face turned more soft. Lucy smiled, getting to her feet and running to the great creature, "Aslan!" The two of the laughed as she embrace him. They both sat on the floor, "I knew it was you. But the others didn't believe me."

"And why would that stop you from seeking me out?" He challenged.

Lucy frowned, "I'm sorry. I was too scared to come alone. But why didn't you come roaring in to save us like last time?" She wondered.

"Things never happen the same way twice, dear one."

She nodded in understanding, but furrowed her eyebrows in wonder, "If we'd come earlier, would everyone who died...could we have stopped that?"

"We can never know what would have happened, Lucy," Aslan's deep tone consoled, "But what will happen is another matter entirely."

Lucy smiled, "You mean you'll help?"

"Of course. As will you."

"Oh..." she backpedalled, "I wish I was braver..."

Aslan's kind eyes poured into her, "If you were any braver, you'd be a lioness. Now," Aslan got to his paws, "Now, I think your friends have slept long enough, don't you?" And with that he let out a loud and ferocious roar, awakening the spirits that had long been asleep.

Chloe grunted as she smashed her staff against a soldier's head. On her right, Edmund was wielding two swords, cutting a Telmarine's stomach. Reepicheep was yelling warrior cries as he charged directly into the oncoming troops. Narnians were barreling into the troops, and Caspian had been pushed into the hole they'd made earlier. His uncle's General hesitated to kill him, and that hesitation almost cost him his life.

The trees had awoken, and one of the roots grabbed the General and knocked him out, saving Caspian. Chloe smiled at the trees, joining the fight. Telmarines, as we said, are very superstitious, and so seeing the trees moving and fighting made them flee in the other direction.

Peter helped Caspian out of the hole. When he saw what had the Telmarines scared he watched in awe. It was truly a wondrous sight to behold, "Lucy," Peter breathed relieved.

When one of the catapults dropped a tree to the ground, the other trees were not happy. They attacked with their roots, traveling through the ground like a serpent. Narnians knew to clear the way but unknowing Telmarines were caught in its path. The roots tore through the earth, traveling to the catapults and crushing it.

The Narnians had caught their second wind, "FOR ASLAN!" Peter declared, and they ran after the Telmarines who's turn it was to retreat.

"We can defeat them if we draw them to the river!" One of the councilmen yelled.

Lord Sopesian, who appeared to be the new Lord in charge, agreed, "We must regroup. To Beruna!" He shouted to his men before retreating back through the forest.
