Chapter-22 FEAR

Avneet and Siddharth were standing on a bank of a river. Seeing the beautiful view, Avneet felt like taking a picture of him. She took out the camera from his bag and asked him to stand facing her and his back to the river. In the process, he slipped off and fell in the river. Siddharth's and Avneet's mom both shouted. Avneet couldn't say anything but panicked. He sank in the water like a stone and didn't even tried to swim. Avneet immediately dived in after him, swimming straight down to try to catch up with him.

Siddharth tried opening his mouth and trying to scream but couldn't scream. Avneet's mom started crying while siddharth's mom shouted for help. Avneet was swimming downward as fast as she could, while trying to grab his arms.

For all her efforts, he was sinking away from her faster than she could swim. She watched him slip further and further away, the image of his grew blur and blur in the murky water.

"Nooo!!!! Siddhaaaarth!!!!" Avneet said and wake up. Siddharth, who was sitting next to him got worried seeing her taking his name and sweat on her face and asked her what happened. She was happy seeing him safely, but again after remembering that dream, tears started flowing from her eyes. Fear could totally and clearly be seen in her teary eyes. She feared to loose him.

"Tumhe swimming aati hai, right?" She asked with a cracked voice.

"Haan!!" He answered confusingly.
"Par tum ro kyu rahi hoo?" He added. Wiping her tears she said,"Maine na bohot bura sapna dekha jismein tum doob rahe the aur main tumhe bacha bhi nahi paii! Bohot duur chale gaye tum mujhse!" Her eyes filled with tears again.

"Abeyy abhi toh yahi huna, it was just a dream, chill!!" He tired to calm her down. "Aur agar mujhe khone ka itni hi dar hai toh itna kuch kyu sunaya tumne?!" He added with a sad tone. She just looked at him not knowing what to say.

"Anyways, humara station aane hi wala hai, aansu poch lo! Aunty aaihongi station par agar tumhe iss halat mein dekhliya na bohot bura manjayengi woh! Aisa lagraha hai abhi abhi kisike saath jhagda karke aai ho! Ye baal dekho, ye aansu! Chalo chalo normal ho jao!!" He adviced her to which she agreed and fixed her condition.

Avneet looked at the back seat where Ashnoor was sitting enjoying the cool breeze.

"Ashnoor!" Avneet called her and she looked at her.

"Haanji!" Ashnoor replied.

"Humara station aagaya!"
"Okay main thoda aage utar jaungi! Achhe se jaana!"

"Thik hai aur tum bhi! Koi samaa  mat bhul jaana! Haan aur phone karte rehna aur time mile toh mil bhi lenge!"

"Thik hai!"

After that Siddharth and Avneet took out their belongings and got down at the station. Ashnoor bided both of them from the window. Shortly after both of them got down there, Avneet's mother and Siddharth's sister-in-law i.e Vaishnavi came there. Siddharth touched the feet of both of them and hugged them, Avneet also hugged both of them. And picking up their belongings, they went towards their respective homes together.

"Tum toh patli hogayi Avneet!" Vibha Nigam said.

"Aunty aapko toh pata hi hai hostel ka khana! Par koi tension nai aba yaha par puraa dabake khaungi naa!" She said happily.

"Waise kisi ka birthday aaraha hai, kahi tabhi toh dabaake khane ka plan nahi banraha?!" Abhishek entered into their house where Avneet and her mom were also having evening tea.

"Areyy haan!!" Vaishnavi squealed.
"Jyada khush mat ho, tumhara bohot kam pada hai! Tumhe woh presentation kal submit karna haina, aur aaj half complete karke aaram se baithi ho tum. Chalo laptop leke baithjao, abhi k abhi!!" Abhishek scolded in a cute manner to which Avneet watched with dreamy eyes, smiling.
