The next few years passed by normal well as normal as it could be for the Dreyar's in these years a lot had happened Hayase and Dawn finally tied the knot Igneel Dragneel turned out to be gay and was now in a happy relationship with Metalicana Redfox whereas Tsukime Dreyar still chose to stay the free spirit she was without joining an actual guild many labelling the girl as a rogue mage.
Tsukime Dreyar was someone who liked to go wherever she pleased and the times she would return home Shoya Yuta Dreyar was the most excited on the days she returned "hurry up mom!" Shoya called from up ahead of his stepmother Dawn C. Dreyar and his little sister and brother today just happened to be one of those days where the blonde's aunt was returning to Magnolia from wherever she went to it also happened to be the day his half-siblings and him were getting their guild marks "slow down" Dawn called to the blonde who ran the rest of the way to the guild, of course, Dawn was also happy to be seeing her best friend turned sister in law but it appears Shoya missed his aunt so much whenever she was away that he wouldn't let her depart on her next adventure.
Tsukime looked back at the guild doors which burst open Shoya walking in through the fairy tail guild doors with an earsplitting grin present on his face before he ran toward the bluenette who mentally prepared herself before she felt him wrap his arms around her torso "hello to you too Yu" she caressed the back of her nephews blonde head "aunt Tsukime!" two childish voices said unison before the lightning dragon slayer heard the gentle padding of their feet "oof" the black-haired little girl threw her arms around the bluenette's following his twin a blonde threw his arms around his aunt throwing her off balance resulting in the older girl stumbling back.
Tsukime gave up trying to adjust her arms around the three siblings with a shrug she knelt to their height then adjusting her arms so it was around all three siblings "let her breathe you three" Laxus Dreyar pulled his three grandchildren "hey dad great to see you're doing well" she grinned up at her father "but don't you think they get this from a certain someone?" Erza Fernandes chuckled catching onto Tsukime's not so subtle way of wording that it was Laxus they got this from "Tsukime..." Laxus gave her a sharp look Dawn giggled Tsukime Maemi Dreyar was someone who would never change despite the years she spent away or how many hardships she went through she'd always either endure and smile through it or make sure the person causing it would leave with either a broken bone or not be able to get out of bed for a while.
The twin's Tori, Yahiro and Shoya stared at their fairy tail marks in their respective places Tori Dreyar chose her left thigh whereas her twin chose his back on his left shoulder blade and finally Shoya wanted his right where Laxus had his.
"How peculiar your's resembles dad's guild insignia" Tsukime stared at her nephew's guild mark "hey! stop perving on your nephew!" Reiki hit the bluenette upside the head with his fan causing her to fall face-first onto the guild floor "ow! that hurts!" she rubbed her head "and I wasn't perving you prude!" she jumped to her feet "oh you weren't?" he raised a brow "no! I was merely observing his mark Reiki Fernandes" the bluenette calmed herself down "but I certainly wouldn't mind perving on you if you get my gist" how she always managed to completely turn the tables and turn him into a red flustered mess was beyond Reiki Fernandes "please stop" Laxus let out a sigh of exasperation while Makarov Dreyar pinched the bridge of his nose the rest of the guild had burst out into a fit of laughter at the redhead's reactions "wha-?! don't insinuate such things!" she crossed her arms "geez you're such a prude" she rolled her eyes at the redhead.
Laxus Dreyar, however, could tell there was a hidden sadness of sorts behind that grin his daughter flashed the happiness was a mask Tsukime put up to hide the sadness now Laxus didn't know what upset his daughter but he'd find out "Tsukime are you ok?" Erza asked the bluenette who sat beside her for a second he could see the mask she chose to put up drop it was only for a split second.
"I'm perfectly fine" she had put on the mask of a jolly girl again as if she was fine she wasn't suffering on the inside even though Tsukime knew she wasn't fine but the answer came naturally to her "are you sure?" Erza Fernandes held concern for the bluenette in her hazel brown eyes "yeah" she forced a smile on her lips despite the smile Tsukime's heart broke with the secret that weighed her heart down slowly breaking her it just seemed easier to show Erza Fernandes that she was fine then let her see how her heart bled with her secret.
Tsukime Dreyar didn't want to keep this secret from everyone especially her family the one's who deserved to know more than anyone but alas she couldn't tell them however she found herself at the one place that put her at ease where she knew that the person who she could tell her whatever was troubling her.
Tsukime ran her fingers over the engraving on the cold grey stone 'Juvia Dreyar' her mother was the one person Tsukime could always come to whenever she had a problem or was missing her mother despite the water mage already being dead but Tsukime could always feel the presence of Juvia Lockser nearby "when I went on my previous travels I..." she let the tears roll down her pale cheeks and didn't make any move to wipe them away not in front of the place her mother lay.
After the brief visit to her mother, Tsukime made up her mind to tell her father everything no matter how hard it'd be for her to tell them but she'd made up her mind pushing open the guild doors she made scanned it for her great grandfather or father at this point she was searching for any one of her family members her eyes briefly met emerald green before they fell on a hunch over figure sipping his cup of coffee chatting with her great grandfather at the bar.
Tsukime made a beeline for the bar where her great grandfather and father sat talking about god knows what but she couldn't keep them in the dark from the truth of what happened to Hayase no matter how much it broke her "Tsukime is everything ok?" Makarov asked bringing his granddaughter out of her thoughts Tsukime realised she had been standing there silently staring at them "I have to tell you something" the two looked at her expectantly.
Tsukime's hands found the hem of her dress playing with it she averted her eyes from their expectant gazes anxiety gripped at her heart "I... the..." she paused closing her eyes she took a deep breath in releasing in slowly her hand instantly flew to the necklace around her neck which provided her with a sense of comfort "a couple of days ago when I was in oak town..." the two men listened to what she had to say "then they..." Tsukime swallowed the lump in her throat silence followed.
Laxus and Makarov Dreyar were silent as they sat in their places for the first time since she'd started talking to them Tsukime looked up to meet their wide eyes the bluenette swallowed the sob about to escape her lips her grip tightened around her mother's final departing gift to her you have to be strong Tsukime for daddy her lips tightened into a thin line removing her hand from the necklace "nii-chan's dead..." she heard something drop "Dawn" someone said rushing to the girl "no please tell me it's a lie" the water mage didn't want to look back at those red tear-filled eyes at all but she had to no matter how much it broke her heart to see her best friend in this state but she needed to know.
Tsukime knew that she couldn't break down right now when her family needed her the most she had to put a rock to her heart however her resolve almost faltered when she looked at the state both Dawn and Makarov Dreyar were in but she knew this had to be done no matter how much she wanted to protect their hearts from the heartbreak but deep down she knew that she wouldn't be able to keep it from them forever because they'd find out whether she told them or not.
Laxus still sat at his seat processing the bomb his daughter dropped on them however once again the familiar feeling of his heart being torn at the revelation of his son the one he loved to death despite their arguments over trivial things but he cared for Hayase none the less he didn't know if to cry over his death or go hunt down the one's who took him away "dad it's ok" Tsukime wrapped her arms around the lightning dragon slayer for once he was surprised at his daughter's actions usually he'd be the strong one and comfort her however it turned out that today he didn't need to put a rock over his heart Tsukime seemed relatively calm to calm for his liking but he knew she had come to terms accepted the reality.
