A fair arm came into the tall blonde's sight stopping him in his tracks before he felt a small body collide with his leg "daddy!" his 3-year-old daughter looked up at him with a bright smile on her face "hi honey" the blonde's wife and son weren't far from his hyper daughter "you're early" he looked down at his watch "someone couldn't wait to see the parade" Juvia patted her daughter's blue hair. "oh it's starting I guess" another blonde a little older then the young girl pointed out the people who were cheering "I can't see!" the 3-year-old tried to squeeze herself between people to get a glimpse of the parade floats suddenly the people seemed shorter, the bluenette looked down at her father before looking back up "wow" her sea-green eyes began sparkling raising a hand she waved at the guild master "hi!" Jellal gave the girl a soft smile giving her a small wave Reiki his son who was standing beside him also gave the girl who looked about his age a bright smile and wave.
Laxus Dreyar hadn't missed the sign which his grandfather made although his daughter didn't know the meaning behind it she copied the old man making the same sign "do you even know what that means?" Hayase Dreyar raised a brow at his younger sister who pouted at her older brother "Hayase stop bothering your sister" Juvia said although her daughter didn't know the meaning of what she just did still it made her happy that she shared a love for fairy tail.
"Where have you been?" Laxus asked looking back at his teenage daughter who had recently gotten herself involved with a bad crowd "where else?" Tsukime asked still nursing her broken nose "did you get yourself into a-" "I'm going to my room" she cut him off "stop right there Tsukime!" he blocked grabbed her by the elbow causing her to hiss Laxus quickly removed his hand checking it to find a big fat bruise on her elbow "have you seen your state young lady" the lightning dragon slayers electric green eyes scanned his daughters it appeared that the bruise wasn't the only thing that she received from whatever she had been doing since she was littered with injuries some even still had blood seeping out of them "I'm fine I just had run in a new stupid council member" she ripped her elbow out of his.
After the death of his wife, Laxus had a fallout with his daughter both of them didn't talk to the other at all on the off chance they did it always ended in an argument that was when she was a teenager both of them were still learning to move on from the death of Juvia Lockser however one day when she'd come back home covered in cuts and bruises they had a decent conversation about everything something Hayase had been happy they did since he didn't have to be the mediator between both his stubborn father and sister.
Laxus found out later that the reason for her injuries was the gang she'd been a part of until she decided to leave the world of crime for what he didn't know that day both father and daughter had a heart to heart conversation turns out both of them were still grieving in their own Laxus with his overprotectiveness and Tsukime through her rebelliousness, that was also the day Laxus Dreyar understood his daughter better slowly over the years they began understanding each other better not hiding anything from the other so naturally, the lightning dragon slayer saw that there was more to the relation of Tsukime Dreyar and Reiki Fernandes how could he tell? he noticed the small touches, gentle brushes of the hand, the kisses exchanged when they thought no one was looking, the longing stares from across the guild and finally Reiki's usual scent of fresh-baked cakes and strawberries was changed to a much sweeter scent of watermelons and fresh flowers it was a scent he associated with his daughter since she always smelt like the flowers which bloomed in spring with a subtle earthy scent.
Jellal looked over to the bar where he could hear the joyous laughter of Tsukime who was talking to Scarlet and Maya about something however he narrowed his eyes to her hand which was grabbed by his son who threads his fingers through hers oh there was definitely something more between the two he was sure of it.
"Heeeey" Tsukime stumbled over to the redhead in her drunken state how the women got drunk neither Laxus nor Jellal knew but Laxus Dreyar was glad he didn't have to deal with another drunken woman his daughter in law was already a handful "Tsukime" Reiki acknowledged knowing this was going to be a long night "kiss me" she pointed to her plump lips coated in a sheen of her lip gloss "wha-?! Tsukime please sit down" Reiki decided to keep a calm head since he needed it because Tsukime Dreyar was hard to deal with on a daily basis and he was sure his girlfriend intoxicated would be a handful "please" she batted her eyes at him oh she was trying to charm her way into this.
"Get me more wine!" Erza demanded holding an empty Jellal only wondered how the women got drunk especially his wife "Erza-chan Reiki doesn't love me!" Tsukime sobbed pointing at his surprised son "what?! I do love you!" now the infamous heavenly body mage was shocked despite having his own suspicions about the two however right now he was more concerned about his drunk wife the issue of his son's relationship was something he'd deal with later when his wife wasn't drunk and screaming at him to stop being so shy kiss her and get married to her already "I want grandchildren!" the guild master screamed pointing at the two "you too!" Laxus screamed noticing his intoxicated grandfather when he got himself intoxicated none of them knew but Laxus Dreyar was going to get a headache from Dawn and his grandfather.
