Tsukime looked back at the guild she'd been part of for so many years she turned away placing the hood over her head and walking away with her team all four determined to end this whole ordeal.
"Why are you here Igneel? not that I don't love you man but you're not part of this whole ordeal," Luca said as Tsukime raised a brow at the blonde "do you want us to leave so you can have your whole bromance?" she pointed her thumb away "what?! no sit your asses down" both males scowled "I'm sure they'll be asking us to leave later" Maya leaned over toward the only other female in the group cupping the side of her lips with a hand.
Turns out that they all shared a more common past than they knew with Igneel being an ex-member of the shadow knights "alright team let's do this" Tsukime said as all boarded their train with determination to end the reign of the shadow knights once and for all.
Reiki Fernandes on the other hand stared at the other side of the bed where his girlfriend usually slept running a hand over the wrinkled sheets still feeling the warmth even though she'd left hours ago and he let her since Reiki knew the importance of her goal to put an end to the shadow knights.
"Y'know I can't be with you forever right?" Tsukime asked while laying in the bed next to her boyfriend "I know" Reiki sighed out both coming down from the euphoria of waking up to the other "why are you doing this though?" although the heavenly body mage knew of the girl's past heck he was part of it "for a better tomorrow that's all I ever wanted since young a better tomorrow a much more peaceful life" it was as simple as that.
He could still remember the remnants of their conversation from the early morning when they were cuddled up to each other.
Tsukime on the other hand stared down at her dewdrop fairy ring which sat perfectly on her left hand a smile plastered on her face still remembering how he suddenly blurted out the words 'marry me' pulling out a black box she didn't know how long he'd had that ring but it didn't matter.
Reiki also stared at the matching one on his ring finger with the intricate designs containing the same moonstone from Tsukime's "come back soon..." the only reason Reiki Fernandes never asked his girlfriend to stay even though he knew that there was a possibility his girlfriend now Fiancè might never come back alive is because both of them had known before starting their relationship that they could never be together forever like they'd hoped for but he mentally prepared himself for the bad news as he finally got out of bed.
Laxus Dreyar was surprised, to say the least, to find a note on his desk when he walked into his office but the dragon slayer's lips soon curved into a bittersweet smile as he read over the note that simply read 'thank you' those two words pulled at his heartstrings it was strange how simple such as thank you can mean a million things.
Igneel sighed thinking of how his dad would react after finding out about his departure he didn't really care what his mother thought since Igneel never had a great relationship with her he'd always connected more with his father then he did with his mother or sister but then again his boyfriend would probably be worried about him if anything Metallicana Ghale Redfox would be mad at him for leaving without a word something he'll deal with that later possibly think of a way to avoid the iron dragon slayers wrath.
Luca sighed looking out the train window he could imagine how mad Scarlet Fernandes would be at him for breaking his promise to her of not pursuing his goal to take down the shadow knights she was one of the many reasons Luca changed it was funny how the guild he'd hated was where he found his wife and ball of sunshine granted not many in the guild knew about the two god the questions his best friend would ask and the violent shaking oh god her violent shaking the boy was already feeling dizzy thinking about it.
Niko in the recent years had hit it off with Kyo lates yes the boy had stopped his womanising ways for fear of hurting his girlfriends feelings it felt strange to Maya knowing that a guy was willing to change just for her but it made her happy too since she knew her boyfriend cared about her that much.
However much the four felt like getting off the train to run back to their life still they knew that this was for the best even if there was a possibility of never seeing their loved ones ever again that fear gripped their hearts but they silently promised to make it back for the people waiting for them who loved them when they couldn't love themselves if the group had met before then they'd have happily embraced death now it was different because they had a life and family to go back too.
Scarlet Fernandes anxiously stared at her phone on the night stand rubbing her swollen belly to relieve some of her nerves it'd been a week since her husband had sent her a text which said he'd be back soon despite knowing he might not make it back taking into account the danger of his mission but a girl could still hope so Scarlet waited for his call or the familiar figure of her husband with his sword tied to his back walking down the path.
The phone on the nightstand started ringing instantly the girl snatched it up putting it to her ear "h-hello?" she answered with a shaky voice hoping praying it was Luca "Scarlet?" came Luca's hoarse voice from the other end "I'll be back soon honey" instantly the girl breathed a sigh of relief the fresh tears falling down her cheek "I'll be waiting" sniffling she nodded along as the call ended.
The group sighed as they let the fear of not being able to make it back home go they were safe... safe and sound and so were their loved ones no more fear of when they'd loose someone close to them before Tsukime looked over the dark mages lifeless bodies counting over them a look of horror came over them "this is only half of them!" she said as the fear she had just let go came back this time hitting her harder "then that means the others must be..." the sentence died in Luca's throat as they all rushed into action "here take a lacrima each your magic will transport you back to wherever you think of" Tsukime handed the three the spare magic transportation lacrima she always had on her personel.
