Chapter: 5

After many sleepless nights and coffee, the trio of gods finally had all of the supplies they needed for the trip. They had packed clothes, food, water, baby food, formula, and Henry (basically everything that they would ever need). The gods just hoped that XD had the answers they were looking for. If they didn't then the trio would find someone that did. After all, Tommy was their top priority.

The day before the trip they made sure that Tommy had a long nap and as soon as the sun started to rise the quartet made their way to XD's castle. Because they could not ride horses with Tommy they decided to make the trip on foot. Even though it would take longer and they would have to carry all of their stuff themselves it was just something that needed to happen. Though as always Techno was stuck with carrying Tommy but this time he had a sling to put Tommy in which was very exciting. Tommy at first seemed intrigued to figure out what was going on but after a while gave up and fell asleep in the sling.

The journey overall would take about a day so they were all prepared to slowly die of exhaustion. As they walked around main roads and trails the sky went from a dark blue to bright pinks and yellows. The forest around them slowly came to life as birds started getting ready to fly north and other animals scrounged for any food they could find. As the trio walked they were surrounded by vibrant plants and emerald leaves coated by a small layer of morning dew.

Soon enough the trio came across a village and stopped at a cafe for breakfast. The cafe was small and cute with numerous tables to sit at. The walls were lined with bookshelves with board games and novels. And thankfully it wasn't busy that morning. Upon walking in Wilbur spotted a familiar girl with short pink hair. She was carefully icing what seemed to be a cupcake with a concentrated look on her face.

"Nikki!" Wilbur shouted as he interrupted the baker's concentration as he ran up to the counter. Techno, Phil, and Tommy followed closely after.

"Hey you made me mess up," She said finally looking up looking annoyed

"Isn't the first time and it won't be the last," Wilbur paused to think for a second, "What life are you on now anyway?"

"I think this is my fifth life?" Nikki said recalling her past lives before she continued, "I see your with Techno, Phil, and... whose child is that?"

"I bet he stole it!" Shouted another baker playfully from the back of the cafe

"Shut up Jack!" Wilbur shouted back before continuing, "That's Tommy! Techno found him in the middle of the woods and now he's ours!"

"So you did technically just take him?"

"Well no not exactly," Wilbur said taking a second to think of what to say next, "His parents must have left him there. No one ever goes into our forests they know the rumors they must have left Tommy too well..."

"I believe you," Nikki said going back to frosting cupcakes, "Anyways what do you guys want to order?"

After the gods had finished eating they went back on the road only stopping to feed Tommy his formula when he woke up. The rest of the trip was long and hard with very few breaks. Though Tommy seemed to love it. Right now they had already collected a bouquet for XD with all of the flowers, Tommy made them pick up. It was surprisingly pretty even though it had every color imaginable in it.

As the quartet got closer to the castle the woods started to fade out and towns became more common. They soon were able to start to see the castle. It was humungous with a tower on each corner and a building connecting it all. It is made up of stone bricks and was slowly being taken over by rose bushes. The castle just seemed magic.
