Kylie’s Pov
Zayn drove me home from the park and as we approached our houses, I couldn’t do it. I kept on having the image of Zayn being beaten up by Jayden and I couldn’t bear the fact that he was hurt. Struggling to keep the tears in, they fell. I was silent, but Zayn could tell something was wrong.
“Kylie what’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing,” I replied.
Obviously he didn’t believe me because he pulled over. We were only a few houses away, but he stopped anyway.
“Kylie, something must be wrong if you’re this upset.”
“Zayn, watching him beat you up just broke me. I don’t know how much more I can take this. With my broken arm, you, Jayden. I just can’t do this anymore.”
“Whoa whoa whoa! Kylie! You are the strongest, most beautiful girl I know. And the best part is that you are my best friend. Jayden is the past. What he did isn’t going to destroy us. It’s going to make us stronger because we are together.”
All I could do was look into those beautiful eyes and believe every word he was saying. He was like my older brother, therefore, I trusted his words. He held my hand in his as he finished his sentence.
“Kylie, you and I will get through this together. You’re my best friend and no matter what anyone says, I will always protect you. You mean the absolute world to me.”
Just then, my stomach started to get butterflies in it.
He started to lean forward as I did then same…
