Chapter 2 Blood
Third person POV.
Freya sat at one of the many kitchen counters in Mount Justice, trying the best to continue enjoying her apple and not pay any attention to the two ‘love birds’ that happened to sit in her eye of view.
A few minutes ago, she was eating her apple joyfully and in her own little world she's created through the many years of being stuck. Then the two of them walked in ‘flirting’ with each other and all the joy she had was all gone and it was filled with a deep sorrow and bitterness … or was the bitterness because of her ‘vampire teeth’ piercing through her bottom lip; causing it to bleed out into her mouth? Yes, it was, but the two having a fun time, aids to the bitterness that filled up her mouth.
Another giggle came out of their dishonest mouth, projecting it on the oblivious one.
Hearing that constant giggling and seeing the way they ran their finger down their cheekbone to their chin; they were going to kiss again.
The heavy pressure coming back in Freya's chest that would soon follow with the crushing, twisting pain that she hated.
She didn't want to see any of this display of affection, but she knew she couldn't really do anything about it. It's their place, too. If they want to talk, flirt, and so on in the place they call home, they have every right to do so.
Plus, she had no say in what any of her soulmates did or who they did it with. None whatsoever.
It was her decision not to tell any of her soulmates or any of her teammates or ‘mentors’ or actually friends she had that she was soulmates to a quarter of the superheroes and a few men that are known by millions of people.
There's quite a number of reasons why Freya kept that side or most sides of her life a very big secret from everyone she met.
With the decision of not telling anyone who she really was, who she really looked like and where she actually came from, was because of keeping her true form from being found out.
Her true form, beautiful, elegant, and rushing with overflowing power of peace and chaos, was not to be seen, not by the naked eye or by any kind of device out there.
The risk of her ‘alien’ form being seen by any bounty hunters, Kain followers, Dark Crystal creatures, or anyone who would take her to Kain or to them couldn't happen. It's too risky for herself and others around her; especially how far she was in. It's too late now to stop or get caught.
Not being able to show her full self, she covered herself with her own magic and did her best to blend in. This made her soulmates not see her as who she really was. With that notice, she went with it.
At this point in time, Freya had no idea how to tell any of her soulmates who she truly was.
It's been six years of working with them, and keeping this secret afloat, telling them now would either end good or very, very bad.
This means six years of lying to them straight to their faces, staring straight in their eyes acting like she was nothing to them and they were nothing to her.
Six years of lying could warrant a bad reaction, and she understood that, she's prepared for it, but at the end of the day, she doesn't want them to hate her. She would rather them stay in the dark for the rest of their lives, finding someone else to love them, then hating her, rejecting her or getting bundled up with her problems. She didn't want them getting hurt because of her.
Her mouth filled with more of the bitter liquid that came out of her body. Not being able to spit her blood out, she swallowed it.
The blood went down her throat, but with how thick and bitter it was, it made her close to gagging, so she took a deep breath in and out and did her best to stay calm.
