BECCA'S POV

3 minutes. I have 3 minutes and I can't find my shoe. I was completely ready for my date with Dave, all I needed was my shoe, but it was missing. It was a cute one too all strappy with a high heel. Oh well. I heard the knocking at the exact same moment I spotted my shoe-in Lucy's mouth. I ran to the door while calling to my dog.
"Lucy! drop my shoe this instant!" she did, promptly lying on top of it. I tore open the door to see Dave leaning casually against the post. He looked up from my bare feet confused.
"Hey, I'm not early am I?" he proceeded to check his watch while I flushed.
"N-no right on time. I'm j-just having a slight issue with my shoe. Come in I'll only be a sec" He complied taking care to wipe his feet for no reason other than my amusement. It did not escape my notice that he had to duck slightly to enter my apartment. I suddenly became aware of something, my apartment had great security.
"How did you get in?" he looked at me strangely.
"Umm you invited me?" I huffed out a laugh at the misunderstanding.
"I meant in to the building, I haven't approved you to come up without calling" he looked at me sheepishly.
"It helps when you live in the building" I gasped. he was my new neighbor!?
"You're the new tennant?" he smirked now
"Apparently" I smacked his chest playfully trying not to dwell on the defined muscles I felt beneath his dress shirt. I really was slightly annoyed that he hadn't told me we were neighbors when he clearly knew.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he looked slightly nervous now which surprised me and I decided to go easy on him.
"I wasn't sure how you felt about dating your neighbors, you know because of the whole awkward breakup situation and them stil having to see them again. Although apparently not in our case because I've lived here 3 months and this is the first time you're seeing me. About that, why didn't I get a welcome cake? I saw you bring one to Shelly, she lives next door to me you know" I looked away embarrased as I remembered the day I tried to bring him a cake to welcome him to the building.
"You were uhh otherwise occupied" I cleared my throat feeling awkward while he looked confused. Gawd. Was I going to have to spell this out for him?
"I heard um a w-woman and she was uhh taking a shower when I came by, and uhh she said you were in the bedroom but I figured it best if I left you guys on your own." I looked away my face flushed as I left the implication hanging. suddenly understanding dawned on his face. I turned away before I could see anymore but he caught my hand and pulled me into his arms.
"That was my sister Marie, she's been staying with me since I moved in" he whispered against my ear. "But keep on being jealous, it's cute" I turned my face towards him intending to tell him off when suddenly he kissed me. just a bruh of the lips before he added more pressure turning his head for a better angle. I pushed frantically at his chest stopping the kiss before it got too heated. I raised my hand to my tingling lips.
"Aren't you supposed to wait until after dinner to do that?" he at least had the decency to look embarrased.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to happen, you're just so damn irresistable. You look beautiful by the way. I never would have pictured you as a red kind of girl" he said looking pointedly at my freshly polished toenails. Steven had begged and begged until I finally agreed to get a pedicure with him. I looked down admiring again how wonderful it looked with my one shoe.
"I'm not usually but Steven convinced me it looks sexy" I blushed realizing I said that out loud. Dave put me at ease by murmuring his agreement. Lucy barked shattering the moment. I greatfully accepted the shoe she offered me and used Dave-he didn't seem to mind much- to stabilize myself as i tried to put it on.Tried being the opperative word. the dang straps wouldn't go in. Dave's warm fingers pried the shoe from my own struggling ones.
"Here let me" Dave closed all three straps quickly. he obviously had practice, something I was trying not to think about. he looked up and smiled.
"My sister wears sky high strappy torture shoes all the time, I don't know how women do it, anyway I've gotten pretty good at doing them up"
"Thanx, and they're not that bad, have you ever even worn-"
"Once. On a dare in college. My feet haven't been the same since." I laughed,shocked. I had not been expecting him to say that. Though I guess I shuld have. eventhough I had just met Dave I had this inexplicable feeling of knowing him forever. It felt as if we knew eachothers deepest darkest secrets when really we knew next to nothing. How could I be in love if I didn't even know his last name. that thought struck me and I just had to know this instant. It was the most important thing in the universe at this exact moment. If I don't find out I might just die.
"What's your last name" I asked frantically.
"Sin" he answers confusedly. "My last name is Sin, and yours is Price. Haven't we gone through this already?" I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise and a chill went down my spine. I didn't remember telling him my last name.
"No we didn't, how did you know my last name?" he looked away the first sign that e was uncomfortable with my line of questioning.
"you know the building directory" he scratched his neck and I knew he was lying. I had specifically asked them to put only my first name in the directory. I decided to let it go for now but we would definitely be revisiting this topic. For now I just wanted to enjoy my evening with Dave and get to know him better. So that I could prove that I didn't really love him. Obviously.

HEYYY IT'S BEEN FOREVES BUT I HAD TONZ OF PRACTICE FOR MY SCHOOL PRODUCTION AND THIS WEEK I HAVE 2 TESTS EVERY DAY AND A TERM PAPER DUE BUT I UPDATED ANYWAY BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!!!! ANYHU I REALLY AMM HOPING TO HAVE THIS FINISHED BY SUMMER SO WE'LL SEE HOW THAT GOES!!! HASTA LAVISTAAAAAA!!
