And Then There Was Breakfast

Becca's POV

        As the 'gorgeous stranger', or Dave as I should probably start calling him dragged me around the back of the restaurant I began to get a little nervous. Don't people usually use the front door? I decided to ask him about it.

        "You're not gonna rape me and then leave me here to die are you?" I had to ask, I saw an expose on it once. The friendliest most amazing guys are always the dangerous ones. He choked and seemed flustered.

        "What!?" He exclaimed rather loudly."Why would you ask me that?" I decided to go with the truth, if he didn't already think i was strange he would soon enough so what was the harm?

        "Well you never know these days, I'd rather be safe now than sorry later" He looked startled for a second then let out deep belly laugh. He had that kind of laugh that just made want to stop and laugh along with him. His laugh was amazing. He continued laughing for a few more minutes. At this point i was starting to get annoyed, it wasn't that funny. I was being serious. I turned to go, but as soon as i started walking he grabbed my arm.

        "Wait! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at you, people are just not always as direct as you and I find it humorous" he gave me a cheesy yet gorgeous smile, "And also endearing"

        I laughed at his cheesiness. "Let's just get some breakfast, Casanova" I was starving. My stomach let out another loud growl.

        "Yeah we better get you fed, come on" He again started pulling me in the direction of the back door of the restaurant. "And to answer your question, i know the owner" he smiled as if he was telling a joke, but only he got the answer. "Yup, I know him pretty well"

        "Oh, okay, are you guys like friends or something?" His smile made me curious.

        "Something like that" he smiled again and I gave up

        "Okay can we like hurry I have a pretty busy day" not really, but he didn't need to know that. I had to meet with two clients and then i was done for the day. Just me, a fuzzy blanket, a few high fat content snacks, and Mindy Kaling. I had recently become obsessed with The Mindy Project. I totally love Mindy and Danny together.

        We walked into the restaurant kitchen and the first thing I noticed was the amazing smell. As soon as we walked into the view of the cooks and other kitchen workers there was a chorus of 'hey boss' and 'good mornin boss' and even one 'who's the pretty lady boss". I looked at Dave and he just smiled.

        "Ohhhh, i get it, you're the boss"

        "And we've got a winner!" A little boy who looked about five popped up from behind the comically large bag of flour. he started to shake his clasped hands above his head and say "Good answer, Good answer" he then ran up to Dave and grabbed his legs in a bone crushing hug. "Uncle Daaavey! you caaame!"

        "Yes, it is my restaurant" Dave said looking down at the boy with obvious affection. he then looked back up at me, "My nephew" he clarified. He looked back down at the little boy, currently spinning in circles and singing three different songs at once. "Where's your mommy Zach?"

        He looked thoughtful for a minute and then guilty. "What'd you do Zach?" Dave asked sternly as if he already knew Zach had done something bad.

        The little boy looked as if he were about to cry. I could tell Dave felt bad by the way his expression softened and he crouched down to be on the little boy's level.

        "It's alright buddy, just tell me where you mommy is" my heart melted a little as i watched him interact with the young boy.

        "Mommy's at home" Dave looked confused, "what do you mean, How did you get here?" he asked Zach

        "I came all by myself!" Zach now looked proud, while Dave looked horrified.

        " Ohmigod" Dave looked like he was going to be sick. "I have to call his mother she's probably going out of her mind with worry" Dave felt around in his pants for a moment before he finally pulled out his iPhone. he dialed the number pressed talk and then put the phone up to his ear.

        "Rachel, hi yeah he's here, at the restaurant. No, sure, Do you want me to put him on?" Dave handed the phone to the little boy and then stood back and watched.

        Zach looked terrified, his lower lip began to quiver and just like that he was sobbing. "I'm sorry mommy, I just didn't want to wake you up, cuz last time i did and then you yelled at me and then you were sad, and I don't like it when you're sad" He stopped for a breath and i guess she must have said something because he suddenly stopped crying. "Okay mommy, see ya!" he handed Dave the phone, and ran off to cause more trouble no doubt.

        Dave looked at the phone and realized his sister was still on the line. "Rach? yeah sure, Ill watch him. See ya in a bit, there's someone i want you to meet" He said while smiling at me.

        Wow, I'm totally screwed. I make horrible first impressions, plus i just met this guy like 30 minutes ago and he already wants me to meet his family?! does he always move this fast? I mean we haven't even been on a date yet. Oh well. I smiled nervously at him and he winked.

        "Come on, didn't you say you were hungry" I nodded quickly "Then let's get a move on, I happen to have reserved the best seats in the house" he gave me another one of those secretive smiles and pulled me in the direction of the kitchens swinging doors. Finally! I'm getting some breakfast!

         Heyyyyy! sorry it's short. In my mind it's always sooooo long and then i post it and im like what no way! i always feel like its gonna be at least four pages, then it turns out two! anyway, i'm completely and utterly obsessed with Mindy and Danny. If you don't watch The Mindy Project start!!! it's amaazing!! also sorry it took me so long to update. I'm still sick so love that i updated at all! anyway i'm still looking for an editor so if you can edit just PM me! ya i think that's it, Oh! also if you make Banners you should soooo make me one! it would be awesome and i would love for like forever also id dedicate a chapter to you!!!!
