JENNIE

The school bell rang signaling the end of class. I threw on my headphones and pressed play on my music as I stepped out into the busy school hallway. I walked to my locker and turned the lock and opened it, putting books inside. As music filled my ears, I couldn't hear my best friend calling for me and she decided to take it upon herself to slap my ass to get my attention. "It's Friday, pumpkin," Jisoo blurted out excitedly as I turned around to face her.

"I'm sorry. Do you mind? I'm in my zone," I retorted playfully, pointing to my headphones.

"Oh, you're in your zone. I'm so-" she started teasing before I interrupted.

"What?" I asked, looking around as if I couldn't hear her still over the music from my headphones I was still wearing. Jisoo also decided to take it upon herself to take my headphones out and just as she removed them from my ears, another voice came into our conversation.

"Hey, guys," Tzuyu greeted us with a smile on her face. "She made another one." Tzuyu held up a CD case that seemed to be another mixtape from her ex-girlfriend. "Look at the ridiculous cover art," she added with a laugh before tossing it into the trash bin beside us as she walked away.

I opened my mouth to speak but Jisoo pointed her finger at me sternly and said, "Don't. Don't do it."

"Don't do what?" I mischievously raised an eyebrow at her as I grabbed the CD from the trash bin. "She makes the best mixes in the world. Look at this cover art!" I held up the CD again as I took a closer look at the art. "Tzuyu does not know what she gave up." Pulling the CD from the case, I noticed the CD itself also had words and art drawn onto it, so I read aloud. "Road to Closure Volume Twelve? Poor bastard."

"You are so inlove with this girl it is ridiculous," Jisoo teased.

I threw my head back and sighed, using my fingers to count reasons that I am definitely not in love with this random girl. "Okay, I have never met her. I have no idea who she is. I'm just gonna put this in my playlist." I stated with a shrug.

Jisoo and I pushed out of the school doors and into the fresh air as she pulled the phone from her pocket and checked a notification that just pinged her phone. "Oh my god!" She yelled.

I try to glance at her phone to see what all the yelling was about but she was moving around too much with excitement for me to even get a glimpse. "What?" I yelled back, slightly annoyed she hasn't said anything else yet.

"I just got a text from Irene saying Where's Fluffy is doing a surprise show tonight!"

I never got so excited so quickly in my life. "Oh my god!" I yelled, basically mimicking her excitement just moments before.

"Last time they had a surprise show it was at Arlene's. I vote we start there," Jisoo suggested as we started walking again.

Grabbing her arm and turning her to me again, I held up my hand. "Wait, promise me that you won't get drunk and leave me alone the whole night."

"When have I ever done that?" Jisoo teased. I narrowed my eyes at her and she grinned, "I promise."

"Jisoo!" We hear Tzuyu's voice shout as she came jogging over to us from her other friend group. "Did you hear? Who's Fluffy is playing in the city tonight. I love that band."

It took every ounce of power in me to not visibly roll my eyes at her, so I did it mentally. "It's Where's Fluffy," I corrected her, putting emphasis on the word where.

Tzuyu just stared blankly at me before shrugging, "Whatever." Her eyes diverted back to Jisoo. "So I'm bringing this guy. He's been following me around the mall for like, three months." This time, I did roll my eyes. It's not like she saw me anyways, her attention was back on Jisoo.
