Everything hurt. His mind, his body, all of it.

No one even thought it was possible to infect Sabre. But with strong enough Darkness, it seems that infecting anybody was possible, even a non-steve, who appears to have a naturally stronger mental will than a steve.

Sabre could do little to resist the Darkness that was slowly taking over his mind. It couldn't have been regular Darkness infecting him; he had been touched by it once before, but wasn't affected by it. That was what lead everyone to believe Sabre was immune to Darkness, but by the looks of the current situation, didn't seem to be the case.

Hence why Time was rooted to the spot.

The poor steve looked almost like a deer in headlights...if steves even knew what that meant. His eyes were wide as he witnessed what he thought was impossible right before his eyes. He wanted to help, he truly did, but fear had paralyzed him in place. And if Time was too scared to do anything, then freezing Sabre's time-state wasn't an option. This made the steve useless in this scenario.

For Rainbow Void, Soul and Corruption, everything in their plan was going perfectly.

Soul made circles around the human, who was groaning and on his knees in pain. The corrupted steve's teal eyes held a slight glow as he monitored Sabre's soul. He grinned upon seeing the Darkness continue to spread through the human, and at a rapid rate too, thanks to Corruption speeding it along.

Said steve simply kept a floating orb of black power just above the palm of his hand, which allowed the Darkness to spread to anyone he wished. As everyone present knew, it was Sabre who was being targeted. Similar to Soul's abilities, Corruption could also see into the souls of others, but only to observe how rapidly their infection was spreading.

The steve also grinned as he took notice of how fast the infection was traveling through Sabre. He knew it had to be painful for the human; after all, he went through almost the same process when he and Soul were first infected with Darkness by Rainbow Void.

The level of enjoyment said steve felt watching Sabre fall outmatched Soul and Corruption's combined. It was so, so very sick to any other steve, but when you're as insane as Rainbow Void, sick was a source of entertainment.
