"Defend the kingdom!"

"There's too many!"

"Light, what do we do?!"

"Goodbye, Light Steve."

My eyes shot open as I sat up in bed. My breathing was heavy as I looked around. No Darkness...no attack...

...No Sabre.

It was just a nightmare.

I sighed, then moved myself to sit on the side of my bed, my legs lightly pressed against the floor. This was the fifth nightmare about Sabre that I've had this week. It's been two months since he betrayed us.

Why do I still think about it? He hasn't done anything to us.

In fact, it was as if he had disappeared off the face of the world. There hadn't been any word of him from the scouts, or even from the nearby villages. Not even the Darkness has been seen wandering around, even though Sabre controls it now.

None of it made sense. If Sabre was truly following in Void's footsteps, why hasn't he started to try and control the Rainbow Kingdom? He knows how big it is, but anyone would think, right?

I looked over at my window. By the look of it, it was barely past midnight, so I've been asleep for at least three hours. Great, just great. Looks like I'm not getting more sleep now.

With another sigh I stood from my bed. Maybe taking a walk around the kingdom would do me some good.

With that thought in mind, I made my way through the Colorless Headquarters, being careful not to wake the guards that were asleep. When I snuck my way up the stairs, it became easy to reach the entrance to the citadel, considering how close the green hallway was to it.

The kingdom seemed pretty quiet at this time of night. I was used to hearing it with numerous voices mixing together, as well as footsteps from various steves going about their daily routines.

But now it was silent; so silent you could hear a pin drop if you listened.

Keeping my footsteps as quiet as possible, I began to stroll through the streets of the Rainbow Kingdom.

This whole time, the worry about my nightmare never left me. If that was a sign that something was going to happen, then the kingdom had to be ready.

Or the Colorless Guards at least.

Either way, if Sabre was still out there, there was no doubt that he'd have an army with him. Whether it's bigger or not than Void's is still up for debate. But I was willing to wager that it was. Considering how he singlehandedly took out Void's army the last time he came to the kingdom, it was safe to guess that Sabre was smart enough to know that he would need one bigger than that to take over the world.

...Hm, maybe that's what he's been doing. After all, that's what Void did while the Rainbow Kingdom was still being constructed.

But yet, the thought of Sabre building an army of Darkness didn't quite sit right with me. Before he was infected, he opposed it strongly. But now...

When I came back to reality, I realized I was in front of the gate leading into the Rainbow Kingdom. With a sigh, I placed a hand on the door, then shut my eyes.

"Wherever you are, Sabre," I whispered, "I'll bring you back to the right side. I promise you."
