She's just meters away. She's now within my reach. But I stilled when I saw fear in Sonny's eyes.
"John, sorry I have to go," Sofy softly said as she clung to my arm to get my attention.
After she bid her short goodbye, I only nod as my response. All my attention was on the woman in front of me now.
Two years without her became my turning point. There was never a night that I didn’t apologize for what I did to her. It was all my choice therefore it is all my fault.
When I felt Sofy release her arm, I advanced my step to Sonny and she stepped backward. I want to talk to her. I want to sincerely apologize for what I did. My conscience was beating me hard and I know what I did was unforgivable.
"S-sonny..."
"Why are you here?" I heared trembling in her voice and it tore me apart
"I-I'm sorry—"
"You should leave with her."
"I want to apologize—"
"You don't have to."
"I want to talk with you."
"Why."
"I missed you." I was so shocked at what I said. "I-I am so sorry."
"Your cheating," she was so sure based on her tone that it made me think why she came up with that idea.
"I'm not."
"Excuse me, mister, I still have things to fix here if you let me," Sonny politely said as she began to dispose everything on the table. "You should leave with your girl."
Seconds passed before I finally understand what Sonny meant. "Sofy is not my girl."
She turned to faced me with her judgemental look.
"She's really a good friend."
After I said that, I found relief in her eyes. I smiled.
